Yes. This just in.

There hasn't been a game released yet where DX11 has had a noticeable impact on graphical quality.

So get over crysis 2 not having DX11 because it still looks and plays great.

AVP begs to differ. Tessellation significantly improves the models, particularly the aliens. Tessellation also does wonders in Metro 2033.

On the DX11 front, the last I heard was that crytek stated they had no idea why people believed the dx11 patch was going to be released, some time back, and that they had not started production of a dx11 patch.

Not sure why you think they're not working on dx11, as they've been very open that it's being worked on closely w/ Nvidia. They just don't have a time table when it'll be ready. The thing from a week ago was just a stupid rumor that got picked up from a semi-reputable site. People got excited, but then let down. Just goes to show that you can't believe anything not directly from the devs themselves.

yea, nvidia made a huge investment into Crytek towards the end of the dev cycle of Crysis 2, and in turn, Crytek all but scrapped their current implementation of DX11..

Just finished Crysis (the first) yesterday...at 2am.
My last save was when we go in the valley just before we grab a tank...and then proceed to the mines, etc...

Woah from there the game just went crazy! It was non-stop slaughter house and a few hours later...BAM! It's 2 am and i'm completely boosted and frenzied after so much crazy killing pwahahahah! Couldn't sleep at all till 3:30am...

After work i'm installing Crysis 2 and starting anew...

Did you play WarHead? I'd play that before C2

Warhead is the other part of the first game which tells it from a different perspective. Remember at the port with the tanks just outside of the rail tunnel when the guy your with is directed by the commander to a special assignment? Warhead is happening on the other side of the island.

Just installed it and played till I got my first nano-module and upgrade. So far i'm enjoying the game a lot. City environnement, even though it's a little more linear, is really nice and a good change.

I just flat out suck at multi player to the point the game isn't fun. Spawn, get shot instantly. Spawn again and shoot guy in back for 10 rounds, he spins and I'm instantly dead. People can lock on to me all the way across the map with a pistol and kill me. Seems like everyone is extremely accurate and I can't hit someone standing still.

Did you practice with the single player campaign?

I sucked at first too, and I play online shooters pretty often.

I'm pretty good now.

I'm pretty terrible, too, but have a good streak now and then. Usually my character looks like Will Ferrel shooting his gun in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. "shit shit shit shit shit!"

I started the single player campaign, but with people already at level 30-40, I didn't want to get too far behind.

you can filter out servers for lower level players...

I will look into that. The server I was doing half way decent on over the weekend was completely empty yesterday. The ranked servers do not seem to be as populated as I expected. Maybe the game isn't that popular?

The servers are weird. It's quite random which ones stay alive and which ones "die off" for a while. I filter out servers with no players and I'm sure a lot do, so as soon as a server loses its connection or players it'll take a rare group of people to jump into an empty server and wait for enough people. It's kind of an issue, but I can't think of a better way to do it.

Well, I got on a recruite skill level server and was doing fine. Then someone showed up that literally would get a head shot, while on the run, through multiple obstacles every single time. Pretty much every jumped off the server after a few maps. TF2 was so much more fun than what I've experienced so far.

Nice to hear that someone else agrees with me. The overall game feels very similar to Crysis, it's just in a city.

I'm also a fan of what they did with the suit powers. The ability to use the strength jump while cloaked is awesome.

V1.2 is out (the game auto-updated itself).

all my nano-module is back. lol

Nice. I stopped playing my second play through when I loaded up the game and found that I had 0 nano catalyst for no reason again. I'd really like to get that 16K unlock, but it wasn't possible when Crytek kept taking away my nano catalyst.

Did they fix the crossfire flashing issues as well?

Post Human Soldier difficulty is indeed quite difficult. 3 shots from a CELL peon (not in armor mode) and I am dead... and that's with all the Nano-module power-ups.

I have to admit after more time playing this game i am extremely dissapointed. I still haven't gotten myself to finish it because i have no motivation to even reach the end of the story like i did in crysis/head. The level designs towards the end have started to become better and better but the overall feel is really downgraded from the originals in the series. Being someone who played the first 2 about 10 times to completion i had high hopes for this game. The pc version was a shameful letdown and i'm glad there are so many of you that gladly sit by and let yourself settle for second rate ports from consoles. Given the popularity and more mainstream appeal of high end computer hardware I'm simply perplexed that crytek didn't even bother to make an attempt at something special for the pc. This reminds me of some of my favorite bands that got popular and started making the worst music under the direction of a mainstream producer. Enjoy your watered down culture.

unskippable scenes puts me off this game. i don't remember crysis having this so it was fun to replay the games.

i just went to a level now (replaying) where it forces me to turn on armour mode to progress. this made me visible and people started shooting. freaking annoying. i wanted to do that via stealth ffs!

this game will have no replay value in the campaign due to idiotic decisions like this.

Yep, this really, really bothered me too.
