I just wish they'd make anyone traveling with kids under a certain age sit at the back of the plane together. That way I know where to book my seats to avoid them. Everyone who loves other peoples screaming children can book seats next to them and be understanding.

Don't know if it's already been suggested, but noise-cancelling headphones work wonders.

Or have a well behaved child. My wife took our son to see her family. He didn't even whine the whole trip and it had a layover too. He was 6 months old at the time.

Same here, our family lives in Germany, so he's been flying back and forth since birth, never cried on the plane.

A "well-behaved child" has as much to do (if not more) the temperament of the child than anything the parents do. And hopefully there's no such thing as karma, lest those complaining about this were allowed to experience the joy of being on a plane with a child who has a reason for crying. Like travelling to a parent's funeral, having a serious disease and going to a hospital for treatment, or having to put up with an asshole like the OP.

True, my son is pretty chill. He's ten now though, so that whole phase is long gone.

There's no such thing as karma.

Lazy parenting produces asshole kids who are loud and out of control.

I have kids and travel with them without a problem. I am sure they would terrorize the plane if I let them.

Please shut your kids up. Crying baby (1 year or less) - can't do a lot about that much of the time sadly.

The OP sounds like an asshole to me.

Crying babies are bad no matter where they are. When somebody's rugrat starts screeching anywhere near me it seems to cut right through my skull. Can't do anything about it though. People gotta do stuff whether they have babies or not. Some people can't afford to pay someone else to watch them while they go somewhere, or perhaps the trip itself is specifically to allow some relative somewhere else in the country to see the little shit. I can respect that. At least I don't have to follow them around the rest of the time listening to it.
