Intolerance for crying babies is a symptom of what makes people in this world so sh!tty as opposed to a problem with babies.

You hear them loud and clear when they are in the first row of economy.

Coworker got stuck with 3 crying kids in first on a 15 hour intl flight. Baller family I guess.
isn't there the business class between first and economy?

Anyway while I hate babies crying on a plane when I have to sleep, the parents are probably worse off so I can't really hate anyone, just be miserable and boil in my bad luck.
So what really ticks me off is the bigger kids behind who move around and kick the seat all the time, and the parents do nothing, like if it's a normal thing to do. Those kids can be made to stop, they're not babies, educate them!

I hate that. Last flight I had my noise canceling ear buds in place because of a kid.
I felt bad lasy year, I had the crying kid with me.
We flew from CA to OH with our 1.5 year old granddaughter. She did great from CA to CO where we had to change planes. From CO to OH she fussed. The last half hour was truly torture on everyone. She wouldn't stop and there was no place to hide.

Until you saw the price difference, you would then come to your senses and become a drone like the rest of us..
And some planes simply don't have a first class...unless those are on a separate plane entirely.

Most of my flights recently have been on Embraer 135 or 145 jets. It's just a cramped little tube with no separations - it's all just coach. I was also on a slightly larger one, something in the 190/195 family. Again, it's just solid coach.
So maybe that's it, the higher-class flights are kept separate. There's not a lot of room on those things for separate sections, or else the difference in first-class/business-class/coach is so minor that I didn't even notice it.

I had a parent change his kid's diaper on the seat across me on the plane.
The smell, the smell.D:

As if he couldn't use the changing table in the bathroom.

I should have picked up the diaper and rubbed his face in it.

It is way, way worse for the parent of that kid, seriously. At least you can try and ignore it, they have the bucking wildling squirming around.

United, based on my limited experience, has changed into a 2 class system. Other airlines (ie emirates) still has 3 classes.

Sooo depends on the airline.

I bet that Emirates economy is still better than United first class. American airlines in general(not the company) suck so much.

I wouldn't bring our 3 year old on a plane unless it was a absolute emergency. She would get restless within an hour and want to get out of her seat. Then all hell would break loose for the remainder of the flight...

For most parents it's just as torturous as the other passengers. I would be pretty stressed out.

Never hear them in First Class!

Is that a grace potter flying v? Kinda looks like the special run gibson did.

I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old. The 7 year old flew to orlando (disney) when he was 3. He is really well behaved and was an angel on the way down there. The day we flew back he developed an ear infection and the pressure changes were excruciating for him . He tried so hard to deal with it. Broke my heart. He was crying softly in my arms when we landed (took him straight to doctor). Some asshole 3 rows up made a shitty remark like some in this thread. I wanted to deck him. I should have... but i wanted to get him to doctor not get arrested.

I hate flying, so I take a fistful of lorazepam before any flight, nothing bothers me at that point. You could pluck my eyebrows and shit on my chest and I probably wouldn't do much about it.

Nope. United still have 3 classes: Economy, Business, and First.

<<----- used UA to Asia because they have the best price, but not best service as other Asian airlines.

Folks like the OP are special flowers who are being victimized by cruel heartless 1 year olds. We need laws to protect them since they have no other recourse. As they have decided not to have children in their private lives they should be protected from them in public too.

Please leave your shitling at home. Thanks.

You know what's really torture? Having my family vacation cheapened by sharing an airplane with someone who's even not high enough on the Org chart to take the corporate charter jet. You ought to be happy your company is willing to put up the money to put you on United Airlines instead of just sticking your ass on Megabus to get to whatever worthless conference you're going to.

Plane is not so bad, it's only an hour or two. Try a 16 hour bus ride. LOL I have to admit I got lucky when I did that though, it only happened once, and they were not going far, so they got picked up at one town and went to the next so I only endured it for a couple hours.
