Heh, I just re-watched Die Hard 1 and felt the same way.. The scene where the cop comes out of the gas station with all the twinkies.. You see the sign, and its like 0.80 or some shit.

in the mid 90s we would drive to Myrtle Beach and the whole way down gas was in the $0.90/gallon price range. Parents said it was costlier than in NW Ohio.
Oh the times. 🙁
I never got to drive with gas anywhere under $2.00 iirc. I can't even dream of a day I paid anywhere under $1.00. 🙁🙁🙁🙁

It makes me sad that I'm 25 and the first full tank of gas I bought was about $17, but now that every other car is a gigantic low MPG hoss and having a car is now a right of passage for teenagers it's no wonder we face the "Crisis" we do.

I remember when I thought $1.09 was overpriced and it was under buck a gallon when I was in HS

Geez people, it was only 10 years ago that gas was just above $1. I remember because we were in college and we could've gone to the indian reservation just beyond the hills and gotten it for < $1 because of no taxes.

I am just old enough to remember when gas was about $0.30/gal.

I remember my grandfather filling up his big Chevy on a $5 bill and giving me the change to use to buy a candy bar.

i was only "homeless" for 2 of those months. and only because i was camping.

but yes you are right, cardboard boxes and plastic bags are cheap . :frown:

edit: am i the only one or does the frown look kind of angry?

when i got my licence in 98 gas was under 1$ a gallon you dont have to go back to the 80s for that shit

I remember walking to the gas station as a kid to get gas for our lawn mower. My dad gave me a quarter and I got 6 cents change.

reminds me of "i am legend"

i think gas was stuck at 6 bucks and change when whatever happened...that should keep the movie feeling current for another 12 - 18 months.

Well I know I used to put about 20-22k miles a year on my car. I've cut that in half since gas prices have tripled.

a 2000 Civic with a little over 60k miles now
