3/12 UPDATE: Free shipping ends today!
3/1 UPDATE: Free shipping ends March 12, 2001 according to this e-mail that eyez received,
"All good things must come to an end, and the Crucial free
shipping offer is no exception. Until March 12 only, orders
shipped within the contiguous US (does not include Alaska,
Hawaii, and US territories) will receive free UPS 2nd Day
Air Shipping for a savings of $8.50 off our regular rates.
And orders shipped to addresses within Canada will receive
free FedEx International Priority 1 shipping for a savings of
US$15 off Crucial's regular rates. If you've been putting
off ordering your memory upgrade, you need to order soon to
take advantage of free shipping!"
2/25 UPDATE: Several AnandTechers including myself have not received their eBates credit. So I have edited the thread title accordingly. Since eBates credits take up to 1 month to receive you can still order through eBates, either way you have nothing to lose. 256MB RAM was $90.94 but has dropped another $1.70 down to $89.24
This is a continuation of neonitto's thread Crucial drops $15! $90.94 for 256MB CAS2
Follow these steps:
1) Are you a member of eBates.com? If yes then proceed to step 2. If no then signup for free. Remember to make your username and password something you can remember and/or write it down.
2) Go here http://www.crucial.com/webpromo/ click the blue Go! button, no organization name is needed.
3) Find your RAM and add it to your cart, consider buying 2 256MB's for $172.79 since the prices are so rock bottom low.
$90.94 256MB PC133 SDRAM CAS2
or
$90.94 256MB PC133 SDRAM CAS3
4) Open a new web browser window and go here
https://www.ebates.com/mall.jsp?category_id=8&merchant_id=2851
5) You should see the eBates ad banner at at the top with the Crucial.com web site below. Click shopping cart, your RAM (which already reflects the 15% off WebPromo discount) should be there waiting for you. Click Secure Checkout and conclude your purchase.
If you have purchased Crucial.com RAM within the past 14 days and the price is now lower you might be able to get it adjusted by contacting Crucial.com's Expert Online, but you may get a bunch of bs. Read some posts in the first thread to get an idea of what to type. Most people seem to have good luck with being honest and sincere, others threaten to return the RAM only to make a new order which is a huge inconvenience not to mention waste of time and money for all parties involved.
Make sure that your COOKIES ARE ENABLED and to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS and you should have no problems.
Here's how my order went through:
