Anyone do the crossfit routines? I am getting in shape just by running around, basketball, and kickboxing, but I want to start gaining muscle and stuff but I never seem to get around to the gym cause I am intimidated by it. Crossfit looks awesome, but deff need to work up to it.

Many people who do Crossfit scale the difficulty of the workouts by changing the amount of weight or number of reps. You could try going half the weight and reps for a week or two and gradually start working towards completing the workouts as written. I'd recommend searching their forums with any questions you have.

Yep, I did a couple of them, but I decided I need to gain some muscle before I started the CF program. After I'm 15 pounds heavier, I'll probably pick up the WOD from their site and then start going to CrossFit Huntington Beach in the summer. 🙂

I do the tabata, but otherwise I don't do much from Crossfit. One workout from Crossfit is a good way to mix up your week.

Is crossfit what they used to get the actors in shape for 300?

Sort of. Gym Jones (the Utah-based gym that trained the "300" actors) was originally a Crossfit affiliate. The workouts they (Gym Jones) do are more skewed towards the endurance end of the strength-endurance continuum compared to traditional Crossfit workouts.
