Hopped on the scale after my shower, to my surprise it displayed 229.5lbs. About three years ago, I hit an all time high of 330lbs. The first 50lbs was lost just through some simple curbing of my food habits, last October I started working out multiple times a week, then I also started taking Alli for a month to force myself into better eating habits - the remaining 50lbs came off since then. When I first started, I was pushing a size 48 waist, 36 now. I still eat whatever I want, only with great respect to moderation, but I know I could still do better.

My goal is to be below 200lbs by August 31st, a little ambitious for me, but that's the milestone.

Not much more to add, it's just crazy to think that I lost a whole Nicole Richie and more. I hope this helps any of you struggling with weight loss, or breaking bad habits. :) This forum has made for some great reading, and support for me - TY to everyone who contributes

That is awesome! Wow, I can't imagine the changes that you've gone through. It's nice to know that you still have steps you can take toward being healthier to reach your goals. Start controlling what you eat a bit better. Don't eat everything you want, eat veggies, fruits, nuts, lean meats, etc :) I think you'll find your own way, but I just thought I'd encourage you in the right direction. Congrats on losing 100 pounds though. That is quite the achievement.

Ty :) I'm not eating everything I want without respect to nutrition - I work all those foods in my diet, but I've just gotten better at proportioning the bad crap. If I go out, I order sensible (usually from all of the diet menus), then only clear half my plate. If I want something sweet, I've learned that a few bites will do - I don't weed out all of the guilty pleasures :p If I want some baked chips with that meal, I know I have to stick to one portion or less. All drinks are water, or diet.

that is nuts. how tall are you? I can't imagine how much better you must feel and look! well done :)

I'm actually sitting at ~225lbs right now (5'11") after a weight lifting bulk and will be starting to cut in 1-2 weeks, hoping to drop down to 200lbs by July - August (which should be bloody tough as it'll prob put me under 10% BF). Wanna race? :p

First of all, awesome job losing the weight, that's amazing.

Second: You're 6'2" and want to be under 200lbs? It seems to me that would put you into skinny territory. I'm 5'7" and 200lbs, but I only have a 33" waist (muscular build).

I'd be up for a race, purely out of the spirit of getting healthier. it might provide some fun motivation for both of us and we can share what tips/routines work for us. we could start a "Drop the fat: Ryan vs. brikis98" thread :)

Brilliant work Ryan! I can attest to the difficulties, as I'm about 2 months into a major lifestyle change too. Was about 240 (5'9"), and not too happy with the situation.

I decided to work on both diet and fitness at the same time. Although I've always been naturally active, and athletic, it had been a while since I went to the gym. I started out with that, and became vegetarian. The weight began to shed off, and although it has recently plateaued, I think it is because of muscle gains I've been seeing, and right now, 2 months in, I'm down at least 25 lbs.

I am really happy for you ... keep it up, and keep us updated!

Real nice work. I'm basically in the same situation, hoping to make the same changes. Started at 330, down to 295. Long way to go, but i'll get there.

You have any before/now pics you could share?
