Greetings, a complete novice here.

I just started research for building my first PC for gaming etc, and there is definitely a lot to lose yourself in.
Based on some digging, I've reached the point where I have a good idea what my budget is - I won't say because I live in Canada. A $1000 spent here gets you much less than in the US due to our dollar.

Nonetheless, I've got a basic idea, and would appreciate feedback over whether this is a consistent setup:

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
16GB RAM (2 x 8GB)
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Any potential bottlenecks? What would you recommend to change as an entry level build?
 
multi-thread capable games, good start.
single thread games, i3 is better for similar price.

SSD for the OS drive (Regular HDD for storage)
 
So your budget is for $1000 CAD? Is that for everything? Just hardware? You should be able to get a better Intel rig for that.
