For network deployment right ? Good question.

EDIT>> I did find this page that seemingly has it, but who here thinks it's not the latest? :) I guess the answer to your question is no, Macromedia doesn't seem to provide a downloadable file of it on their site... still searching...

:Q

Is Linux affected?

I guess it doesn't matter, I just went around to all my rigs and installed the new version. Thanks for the heads-up!

Right. I'll keep looking too...

How about here?
Sweet, good job. What led you to that link?

I just killed off the Flash plugin in Mozilla/Phoenix and then visited the download Flash page. Instead of auto installing, it'll d/l this file ;) Not sure if it'll work for IE or not.

Ok, the fixed version is build 79. You can check your current version here: http://www.rh71.com/projects/versiondetect/versiondetect.html (no, it doesn't try to exploit the flaw :D)

BTW, I think you should link http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflash/ instead of the page that automatically installs the patch (kind of unnerving). Thanks for the heads-up though.

Added the general link and explained both.

im so glad all internet security settings are set on high.
no active x or java ever run.
but on seldom sites it is needed and can always add them to trusted sites.

Q. What is Flash?
A> Flash is the reason why a majority of the "IE-specific" websites gladly display animated images and irritate me. It is also the reason why some of the sites (e.g mazdausa.comcan show 360 deg. view of their models) can make a really good presentation of their content. However, what about users who are visually impaired OR the ones (like me) who prefer to use text-based browsers?? Flash can also be used to make stand-alone installers. The best one Ic an remember is the instaaller for a cd burnign software called B's Recorder gold that came with my 48X Sony CDRW. (dunno is its shipped with other models also)

Q. do I need it?
A> NO. Read: "I" refers to the person who posted this message

With IE, if you go to Tools, Internet Options, Settings, View Objects, and right-click on the Flash Object (earlier version of 6 anyway...), there's an Update feature that worked fine for me (even if I did still have to reboot). -kd5-
