India just knocked out Aussie's and next week is going to play against Pakistan in the semi final. Woot!

Ind Vs Pak in the WC.. definitely a real treat to watch.

I'm not sure if the organizers knew it would be Pak vs. Ind. The match is in Mohali... Real close to the border. Should be a crazy atmosphere.

I don't think so.. but that state is as peaceful as any other state in India.. not including Kashmir.

Not a lot of work got done last night. Everyone was busy watching the match. Good game though, it's nice to see Australia catch an early flight out of a tournament. 😀

Oh nice. The guys at work are going to go nuts. I watched some youtube clips of cricket games and it seems pretty interesting.

thank the lawd its over! now i dont have to worry about all these asians asking me if im watching cricket. for the 100th time, no....i hate it

Any cricket fans out there know of a good website primer for the game, perhaps aimed at an American baseball fan? I am a huge baseball fan, and at first glance the two games seem somewhat similar but am interested in learning more about the differences.

BTW, even ESPN here in the US has featured front page articles on the cricket world cup, maybe the game is gaining popularity here as well?

People at my grad school organized a party and streamed the game in one the classrooms that had a projector. I slept in.

the India victory was pretty crazy in the sense that my Indian neighbors were screaming. My friend a few miles away was telling me how he heard all the cars honking around the neighborhood.

hooray for living in Silicon Valley? 😀
