I've got $319 credit on my account at an online store after RMAing my ASUS HD6950 2GB DirectCU II. (all 4 displayports on the card died)

Out of these options what would you get??? HD6970/GTX570...
Or a HD6950, GTX560Ti or HD6870/6850

Any thoughts?
Wish the new 28nm GPU's would hurry up and come out.. so over 40nm and not much difference in cards.

I have two 30" 2011 Dells at 2560x1600 each or 5120x1600 in Eyefinity.
CPU- i7 2600, 8GB ram.

Games -
Supreme commander 2
Starcraft 2
Shogun 2
Natrual Selection 2
Left for dead 2
Day of Defeat 2

And i i'll be playing, When they come out.

Guild Wars 2
Battlefield 3

Wow what games do you play because in general it's a toss up between HD 6970/GTX 570 and HD 6950/GTX 560 Ti.

You have a pretty high resolution so I would go with a HD 6950/6970.

So... huge resolution & multi-screen gaming? With a single card, you are still best sticking with 69x0 and 2GB (per GPU). So it all depends what your store credit will get you from that one vendor.

Stick with the 6900 series cards at that resolution. Personally, I'd go with a single 2GB 6950, overclock it, and put the rest of the money towards a future 28nm card. You might see a small difference between the 6970 and 6950 but not enough to justify the $80 price difference.

Another option would be to wait until another open box MSI Lightning 6970 comes back in stock. $289.99 and comes with clocks of 940/1375.

Stay with a 6950 or 6970 w/ 2GB RAM. With that much desktop real-estate, I would try and stay with as much VRAM as possible. If you get a good deal, and don't mind throwing-in a little extra cash, the GTX 580 1.5GB would also be a good choice.

At that resolution I would go for a 69x0 again. I think the 1.2GB on the GTX570 will hold you back. A GTX580 would probably be a good card, but I think the performance difference between it and the 6970 doesn't justify it's price premium (not at that resolution anyway). I think Russian posted some links showing the GTX580 as only something like 8% faster at 30" resolution.

Yeah thanks all, i'll be looking at another 6950 or a 6970 if they have a good deal going. :)
