Woohoo, I got in for 1. I already have the Packard Bell remote and I havent had success with it after numerous attempts with several different programs.

Hopefully this one works for PowerDVD and WinAMP on my Happauge WinTV dbx.

My Audigy Platinum remote already interferes with my TV remote which already interferes with my wireless keyboard and mouse...I wonder what this multimedia IR remote will interfere with...:eek:

Back in stock. I got one, I also needed a CD-rom drive, new retail AGI 56x UDMA/33 IDE/ATAPI CD-ROM Drive. All shipped Fed Ex ground for $5.00, not bad considering how rates have gone up.

Any idea why Creative doesn't sell these themselves? I think its a great item, just wondering why Creative won't market it themselves and make a few extra bucks.

So does this Compugeeks sell items that are brand new? I mean with such low prices, sometimes you have to wonder if it is selling refurbished items or what. Or I'm assuming maybe it is selling OEM products? I couldn't really find a definite answer in their "About Us" area. And how reliable is this place? Thanks.

Compgeeks sells discontinued, refurbished, used, and new retail and OEM products. They buy in volume, sell in volume, and count on volume to make their money. You can tell what condition a product is (new, used, retail/OEM, or refurbished) by looking at the little colored circle/square/triangle to the left of the product link/name.

They tend to take a day or five to ship an order, and if there's a problem with the product, it can be a hassle to get it replaced or get a credit. Overall, they're decent, as long as you don't mind waiting and what you buy doesn't have any problems.

I've ordered from them several times, and even with the bother of getting a credit once (took several calls over two weeks) and having to wait for orders to ship, I'll order from them again. They do have very good prices, and they do get some very nice products.

I ordered two remotes this time, one on Sunday, one on Monday (thanks for the heads-up, WildFireVT!). Compgeeks was on the ball on the first one, shipped it Monday night. Second order hasn't shipped yet, unless they noticed that two orders had the same address and put it in the same box (and pocketed the difference in shipping), but if they get it out tonight, I'll have both before the end of the week. Overall, they're not Newegg, but they're not a shady scam company.

They always clearly indicate whether an item is used, refurb or new and whether the item is retail packaged or not. Based on the products I ordered and recieved, things are just as they say on the pages, but I tend to only order "new" stuff.. Just note the shape-/color-coded icons on list pages and/or read the condition and packaging fields on the product pages.

And how reliable is this place?

I've used Computer Geeks on a few occasions and have been pleased with my dealings with them. They even called me once when there was a problem with my credit card so we could resolve the problem expidiously. Too bad they're in CA and I'm in DC and I'm too cheap to pay for anything but ground shipping - it can take a while for my stuff to get to me.

Compgeeks is an up and up company. Shipping does take a while. I have ordered several items and all came fine. luckily no problems so I do not know how they are on returns and such.

I ordered two remotes and will let you know how they are. hopefully not too much hassle. bought them to control winamp and a happauge tv card. please post of any experiences in this area.

that evertek place has some awesome prices if you need that stuff. minimum $100 order or they tack on a $10 surcharge.

Got mine today. Its pretty good, works just like it says it does. Product looks pretty new to me except that the installation cd is a cd-r, but hey as long as it works.

Just got it. Installation was easy, but getting it to use with your programs is a pain in the butt. Nothing else worked for me except PowerDVD :( it will only play, mute, pause, and nothing else :(. The program can't pickup WinAmp for some odd reason. I'm Using WinXP, maybe thats the problem.

If your using the software that it came with, you have to choose which programs you want the remote to work with. And you have to deselect autodetect decoder and program, so that the program you manually choose will still.

I did manually switch to winamp but it gave me a error message of can't detect application. :confused: Is there another software which could utilize this remote control?

Hello... I ordered this and the cheap CD-R that's supposed to have the drivers can't be read by my cd-roms... think it's corrupted or nothing's on there, not sure what. Can someone help me out with the drivers (IE- send them in an e-mail, or point me to a dl site? PM to discuss) Thanks.

EDIT: NM, someone from FW was able to post the driver for me.

They Suck at returns (sent me a DOA ti4600) they gave me a RMA I sent it in July and I have had no contact with them since my RMA for a 4600ti I have all documentation that I returned it and I just got a $236 credit today after disputing the charges w/ CC company at the begining of the month.

Your ok unless they send you something DOA... I will never order from there again not that they want my business since I got my $ back :p
