Creative Drivers no more?

I reformatted yesterday and when I went to creative's site that had this new, auto update feature on their website for drivers. I thought that was cool so I tried it out. The install would not complete because I needed to have drivers installed already before it could be updated. So, I figured I would download them and do it manually. Well, after downloading the drivers and trying to install them the install failed as well because I don't have a previous set of drivers installed. I can't find a set of drivers on the site that will let me install a base set, then upgrade to the newer releases. Does Creative expect their users to pay for a driver disk now? Can anyone else confirm this for me? Any info would help. Thanks.

> Bah! What a bunch of BS. They make mistakes and then we have to pay to fix them

I'm not usually pro-lawyer but companies like Umax and Creative that do this deserve a little class actionin'

Creative has never been top notch, imo, when it comes to drivers.

I bought a modem from them once, and then later I upgraded to Win2k, only to find that they didn't release updated drives for the modem to support that OS. And that product was still available on the store shelves at the time Win2k was readily available. What a bunch of BS.

Christ! Could you imagine if Nvidia or or ATI charged their users for driver updates?! They could charge 50 bucks a piece for their high end cards and make all of their money off of bug fixes. This is total BS. I think I'm going to contact their support department and demand they send me a new disk for free. It's not like people can make "copies" of the card, like most people do with software, and then use the drivers to get a free soundcard out of the deal. I think I'm going to contact their support department and demand that I be sent a CD for free.

I was kidding dude, you can get all the drivers you need off their website. It's just very poorly laid out, and hard to find what you want.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHNO!
Hehe, good one.
I looked. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Linkage please yes thank you sir?

They've put them back? Creative has a history of pulling their drivers off their site, especially for OEM cards, so I assumed you were serious.

driverguide was a good suggestion, Viper96720.
