It's amazing how animals can usually tell BEFORE the shit hits the fan. Honestly, evenin this video, I would have expected the animals to not even be out when it was THAT close. Usually they bail and dig them selves in before it gets that close to 0-hour.

Yep. I always like paying attention to the animals to see just how bad the coming storm is going to be. I thought they also can "predict" earthquakes, as they're behavior will change well before the quake.

You guys obviously don't live in tornado alley. I've seen some stormfronts that would make you shat your pants. It's also lots of fun wondering if the storm is gonna drop a tornado on you.

truth.

but that was a pretty nice frontal clould darkening the sky

At first, I thought, "No biggie...just a few clouds and fog in front of the mountains,"...then the mountains started moving closer...impressive looking storm.

I half expected it to turn into a movie starring Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum after that.

that looks so effing sweet. wish I was there.

though I'd be kinda worried about lightning. wonder if those trees make good enough lightning rods.

I was in a storm like that a few years ago, although it was already night and thus couldn't really see it coming (at least not until it got close enough for lighting to light up the horizon), we could only hear it...it was the loudest and most frequent strikes of thunder I have ever heard, it was as if there was an army rolling in with tanks and other artillery. It was amazing.

That is awesome looking. Sucks I live in an area with such mild weather, not even thunder storms :(

I hate california ... nothing good like that. In florida, I had it happen on a few occasions and always had a liking for the rain. Always cooler then hell to be out in the middle of a sunny day, look to one side and see huge gray clouds just rolling in.

Yeah, the thunderstorm hit Southern Finland on August 8th. Cutting down hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of wood, destroying houses and cars, and causing flooding in some areas... nasty one. If I recall, the lightning "density" was 110 strikes per square kilometer in the centre of the storm. They say it was all time record here...

I would not be on that beach when it rolled in, I can tell you that. I'd be safely videoing out of the window of my car

That's pretty impressive, and actually happened to me. I was at the beach with my family one year and I saw a cloud mass like that moving in. I pointed it out to my mom, and the lifeguard saw me point, took one look, and cleared the beach. By the time we made it to the cottage stairs, the wind had risen, and it picked up a heavy wooden beach chair that was on the deck and it hurtled down the stairs at us. We ducked and it landed on a dune. The storm was so bad that my brother ended up being very afraid of storms for a while after that.
