Crawlspace Water

Very heavy floor moisture to the point of standing water in some spots... This usually occurs in houses built in areas where there's a high water table, etc...

Been reading around on the net and see it's a "fairly" common crawl space issue. The fix is either a gravity drain system at the base of the footers or a sump pump to keep the crawl space dry (covered with a vapor barrier).

Has anyone ever had this issue and done the aforementioned fixes with success? What's your story?

my house gets it sometimes after heavy rains. I don't believe it's coming from outside though. And I'm honestly not sure what to do about it except leave it be. Who do you call to fix a problem like that anyways?

It was found in a home inspection on a home we made an offer on (built in '58) when we were doing a walkthru with the inspector. The sellers hired a company that specialized in this work, and they ended up installing a second sump that dealt exclusively with the crawl space. You do not want to have mold start growing in that crawl space, or bigger issues, such as respiratory issues will start cropping up in the family.
The realtor also kept a small amount, about 2k, in escrow for one year so that if any more damp spots turned up in the following year the money could then be pulled from that escrow to cover additional work that may be needed.

My parents had that problem in a house at the bottom of a hill built in the 70s. They had the base floor ripped up, put in a new bottom layer that drained into a sump. Worked perfectly and never had a problem again.

I have a sump pump and vapor barrier down and do not experience any type of moisture in the crawl.
