I'm surprised you didn't pull out your gun and shoot him!

edit: taht was a troll post, and I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.

:D It was funny!

I didn't carry back then. Besides, with that job I deal with REALLY pissed off people a lot. Almost always face to face. I learned a shit ton from that.

CL people are flaky and so I like to have their cellphone for in case they show up late or don't at all. As a seller, I am sometimes asked back for my cell too. How do you get away with just email and not appear suspect?

I only negotiate through email. Once the deal is confirmed and right before I leave to meet them, I email them my phone number. I have yet to have a problem doing things this way. Its pretty easy to judge people via email and I won't deal with crazies or mouth breathers.

suddenly, BUTCH1's ex-girlfriend's life got a lot worse.

No, LOL, I had tried a few SMS programs a several years ago and all of them failed miserably and I do have a few things on CL I'd like to list, what drives me nuts is when someone calls up and says "yea, I want that" then disappears like a fart in the wind, I don't get that type of behavior whatsoever..

Yep. I use email to triage responses. I don't want 30 calls asking me if I want to trade for a broken x-box. I buy and sell a lot on Craigslist and never had an issue using email 100%.

Yep. I have had cell phone thrown at me.

My favorite was some guy had busted the antenna off his phone and wanted me to replace it for free. Nope. You have to! Nope. If you don't, I will beat your ass. Nope.

The guy leans back and from experience I know what's going to happen. A Sony Ericsson flip phone comes screaming past my head and hits the wall, smashing into tiny pieces. I'm happy because now I don't have to do shit. My installer didn't miss a beat. He grabs a push broom, sweeps up the bits into a neat little pile and innocently asks the customer "would you like your pieces back?"

I fucking lost it and had to go into the back room.

doubt you had an installer. doubt you lost it at work and had the option to go to a 'back room' instead of being shown the front door.

Cool story I guess though.

Not to hijak your thread but I have one of those laser-projected keyboard things and for the life of me I can't figure out what it is useful for.

Not sure why I thought anyone cares, but your thread reminded me of that.

Carry on.

I might have actually scared off some craigslist sellers/buyers. I'm usually very formal in emails and probably not what someone trying to sell something on CG is used to.

It's futuristic... Also really flaky and uncomfortable to use
