Craigslist ad keeps getting flagged / removed as soon as I post it

I'm putting my car up for sale on CL, and in the past week it has been flagged and removed about 4 times, prompting me to repost it. Today, I noticed the ad was gone and reposted it, and it was immediately flagged and removed. I immediately repost it, and it's already been removed! I know I can't find out who the shitdick(s) is / are doing this, but is there any way CL can ignore the guy's flaggings? I have the ad in a txt file so copying and pasting it is no big deal, and it's no sweat off my back (yet), but it's a minor annoyance I'd like to avoid.

Could it be auto-flagging as your just copying / pasting the same text which was already flagged? I know if you try to put up 2 posts almost the same it won't let you but not sure if they can even do something like automatic flagging.

Edit: Have you tried to get someone else to post the ad?
Edit 2: If its a really shitty car I might be the one flagging it.

As far as I know 1 person can;t remove a ad.

Post the ad here and we might tell you why it is being flagged by many

yep, usually it's used car dealers who will do this from multiple IP's

It definitely isn't double-posted. I hate when people spam CL with their ads and I make it a point to not do that. I thought it took multiple flaggings, but the last one got taken down within 5 minutes of me posting it! Marlin, I don't know if posting the ad here will just get me more flags, if you know what I mean. I promise it's a run-of-the mill car ad, the price is appropriate (doesn't reek of a scam) and there's nothing in it other than normal car history / info along with some pics. And Se7en, it's not a shitty car, I can assure you :D

I would suspect this if you see a trend of a lot of private used cars being flagged, but not used car dealer's ads being flagged. It would be interesting to see someone track this as closely as possible to determine who is doing it, then declare holy war on them online.

Post it here for 10 or 15 minutes, then remove the post. That'll give plenty of us time to see if we see something wrong with the ad. Perhaps you have it in the wrong category or something? We had a similar problem once; turns out that a small group of people were flagging the ad simply because we had the pictures on our webpage. Because our webpage was linked, they were considering it to be a business ad.

Well the pics are linked from my photobucket account, so I hope sharing them isn't a problem :p

Only reason I see that someone might flag it is if they think the list of other cars at the bottom was keyword spam.

This is quite common not only in the car sections, but everywhere. People often figure out a way to use multiple IP's for abusing Craigslist.
Thats why I dont bother with it anymore.

I know this happens for a fact. In addition to flagging other ads, used car dealers will post multiple ads for the same car in the same day to drown out other ads. They will use a little different wording so CL doesn't think it's the same ad.

Can anything be done against this ( besides going vigilante on them )?

Dealer-DOS'ed? I give them ingenuity points....but damn that's lame of them. It'd be interesting if you could obtain the IP's and trackback to who it was and run a real nice story in the weekly "consumer activist" section of your local news.

Same thing happened when I tried to sell an extra Wii for cost + $20. Kept getting deleted in minutes, while the $500+ ads stayed. Saw a few others cheap ones disappear, too.

I pretty much gave up on CL for this very same reason. My posts would get flagged and removed within 5-15 minutes. All because scammers flood CL with their own ads while flagging down any ad that is not theirs.

CL is practically useless now.

OMG se7en already explained this you yourself said it you are copying and pasting the add. Change the add. Change the title and see if that helps.
