Ok I have an urgent question.

I was unpacking my new Plasma TV from the Dell deal and upon unpacking it, the TV tipped over before I could catch it and hit the floor. The glass / plasma part is now cracked and the unit no longer works.

Is there any way to fix this when it happens or I am just out the 2K I paid for it?

Any help at all is appreciated.

Take it to a repair shop. That is truly terrible. You must feel sooooo dumb.

Is there visible physical damage? If not you could just return/exchange it.

Otherwise, I don't know what to say. The same thing happened with a plasma my parents got from Costco -- it just toppled over and broke after the delivery guys unpacked it, but Costco has the best return policy on the planet and exchagned it no problem.

I was originally going to get it at Costco, but got it from Dell cuz it was cheaper and better. I think i may just have to eat the cost. Too bad its all the money I got for right now, was a present for my dad :(

I think Dell warranty covers defects, not accidents.

I am fcuked. Its my brother who actually purchased the Plasma using Amex and he is unwilling to lie to Dell.

Ah well, I am just going to have to cough up the money I guess.

What kind of credit card did you buy it with? What about your homeowner's or rental insurance? Some will cover accidents for a deductible. Some credit cards have a no questions asked warranty on products you bought. I seriously don't think you should rip Dell off about it even though I hate the fvckers.
