Er, the "celebrities moisturize with foreskin" is actually...not a conspiracy. Sandra Bullock literally talked about it on Ellen. Now, it was because she doesn't know what she's talking about and so described it in an incredibly fucked up way. But basically they extract stem cells (the kind that aren't super useful I believe) from like the discarded umbilical cords, and then put it in like face cream, and celebrities pay out the ass for it as special skin care treatment. No clue what its doing in that top level.

MKUltra isn't nearly as well grounded as that chart would suggest (although it does actually more closely resemble the conspiracy, but there's also a bunch of child trafficking conspiracy stuff involved in that, that I believe has very very limited to no actual evidence supporting - with it more closely resembling the "evidence" for that stuff in the other conspiracies listed, many of which are in the top section which should give you an idea of how far off its placement in that chart is).

Which I forgot about some of that shit. Hell, the UFO stuff is tied to a bunch of the stuff listed in other sections.

Government made diseases is frankly more grounded in reality than the chart suggests (although specific instances like COVID19 being developed and deliberately spread by China for instance not seeming to have any evidence supporting it).

They should add stuff like the Tuskegee Syphilis experiment in Grounded in Reality. That stuff is exactly what the conspiracy sounds like.

Also they should add "Donald Turmp didn't win 2016 election" in the "grounded in reality" section. Since its true.

A rare lapse is innocently forgetting your mask at home. Hosting a dinner at an exclusive restaurant for donors and lobbyists in the middle of a pandemic is an overt tone deaf act that is at best hypocritical. I believe roasted aggrandize was the appetizer.

And leaders actively denying science and undermining the health experts causing hundreds of thousands to die is orders of magnitude worse than either of those things. Your bothsiderism sort of left off the worst offenders on one side of your argument.

Your were trying to be sneaky and make a dumbshit governor look bad (and he did) but then forgot to mention the dozens and dozens in Republican leadership positions making this worse not for dozens of people at dinner but for entire fucking states. Ya know, millions of people.

Well it seems like your whataboutism was doing just that. You literally were comparing actions of two groups in an obvious effort to show how dumb a democratic leader is (and he absolutely was). But you completely neglected the worst people (the one who are indirectly responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths).

Its like you are comparing a kid who stole a candy bar and an employee who skimmed $500 from the register as thieves. Yet you neglected to mention the CEO of the corporation that owns the convenience store who embezzled billions and put thousands of people out of work.

Do you see your selectivity as a shortcoming or some sneaky superpower?

Valid point. Newsome definitely did some class A dumb shit. I most definitely am not carrying that water. I don't defend stupid behavior. I did get caught up there in what I saw as typical conservative comparisons behavior. That's not really valid in this thread. Dumbshits doing dumb shit can't be a comparative exercise here.

Here’s the thing. The GOP has irresponsibly ignored the pandemic as a hoax, but they’ve been consistent in that stance. What would be hypocritical is if GOP lawmakers who supported Trump and denied COVID-19 as a hoax arrange for them and their families to receive priority for the vaccine. That would be complete and utter hypocritical BS. Under that scenario, I would have no problem calling it out, same as I have no problem calling out mayors for releasing statements encouraging people not to travel, while traveling...or governors or mayors or other politicians arranging for creature comforts while their constituents suffer. It’s not comparative, it simply is what it is.
 
It's not that you're wrong. Newsom was being a hypocrite. It's that I just can't bring myself to give two shits about a simple matter of political hypocrisy anymore. Democracy is existentially threatened right now and on an ongoing basis. And it's not because of Newsome or anything the democrats are doing right now.

The President is going to get top care under any scenario because he is the President. If however it came out that someone pulled strings for Giuliani or Don Jr. to get treatment ahead of another patient, that would be hypocritical BS.

But people like Newsom have always received a pass, no one has ever truly given a sh!t about political hypocrisy when it is their side...we have two chambers of Congress and numerous state houses filled with them. I am of the opinion that NOT giving a sh!t about people like Newsom is the sole reason Trump is able to get away with what he does, and paved the road for his rise to political power.

Ben Carson got Regeneron's treatment prior to EUA specifically because Trump blessed it. I bet there are others.

Kind of by default the rich, powerful, and connected are going to have access to top flight medical care that most of the country will not which is going to include ready access to therapies that are severely limited in quantity. I would not even be surprised if some have managed to obtain it for prophylactic use.
