Water purification doesn't fully remove all arsenic, so we shouldn't drink.

Masks aren't perfect-don't wear masks at all.
Vaccine isn't perfect - don't get vaccinated.
Omicron is not totally stopped even with a booster - don't get a booster.

Without masks and vaccines, things would be infinitely worse, yet there are millions of people who would do nothing because it doesn'1t fix everything perfectly. Conservative brains are broken.

I never, NEVER said "don't get a booster". My problem is with "forcing" others, especially based on false premises.

Now you say ANYTHING, but that's not true. There are ALWAYS limits. You know what would keep you and your family safe? If you prevent anyone else from driving on the roads when YOU are. That would lower your chances of an accident by a LOT, but it's completely unreasonable.

Twist the wording all you want, but in effect you are forcing people to either die or be imprisoned. All we want to do is force you to be safe (actually we want you to choose to be safe, but we will resort to forcing if you insist, your choice).

That is your choice to make. Your other choice is to wear biohazard suit level A. That way you almost certainly not get infected. What you do is your decision to make as that is your choice.

You can make the decision to get boosted or stay home. Then we don't have to force anything. You are the only one choosing to be forced.

I brought in Omicron because we were talking about with IT the protection against infection with the current vaccines is SO low, that it does not materially prevent further transmission through the population. Now as far as breakthrough infections go: the article states that between April and November there were 1.8 million breakthrough infections. These were POSITIVE TESTS! We know that even with Delta, the vaccine protection against severe disease is quite high, so there HAVE to be many more that WERE positive but did not get tested. I don't think 10 million is unreasonable....

Each person needs to take whatever measures they feel they need to make to keep themselves and other safe. Don't expect anyone else to keep you safe.

It is a numbers game, like I posted to you above. Black and white is not the way to look at it.

Suppose I am vaxxed and am 80% protected. But now suppose the people I deal with are vaxxed and are also 80% protected. Now my protection goes up to 1-(1-0.8)^2 = 96%. Now suppose the people they were exposed to were vaxxed, then my protection becomes 1-(1-0.8)^3 = 99.2%. Etc. The more that are vaxxed, the more likely that it becomes impossible to catch it.

This is EXACTLY the fascist playbook, safety above EVERYTHING. Fact is, life is dangerous; we must COLLECTIVELY agree on what's reasonable and what isn't. Fact is, NOBODY is 100% "safe" and nothing is more dangerous than doing everything possible to get from 99.4% to 99.9%.

Think about driving, which kills 40 thousand people per year in the US. If we lower the maximum speed, the number of deaths goes down. Why don't we make the maximum 20 mph? Because the benefits don't outweigh the costs to society.

Yes it's a number game but what you don't understand is that it do not last long. The reality is that booster last around 2-3 months at most and then you would need another one. There is a reason why some countries now recommending booster after 3 months.
