Couple Run After Wrong Amount Paid By Bank.

Typical dishonest Kiwis :|

...wait... bah!

Honestly it's really hard to say without being in that position, but I don't think I could bring myself to take that money. One time I stole a road cone from a construction site while drunk. The next day there was an article on the news about how much money construction companies lose from shenanigans like that, and so I returned the cone out of guilt. I'm too honest for my own good.

Edit - OMG hahaha they call Rotorua a "resort" in that article  I was born in Rotorua and spent much of my youth there. The place is a run-down shit-hole! Wow, resort? Man I'm LOL'ing IRL about that.

Edit 2 - also, I'm a Westpac customer. Hopefully they'll "screw up" with my account at some point 🙂

Well, you're partly to blame as an institution when your motto is "Making the most of life" and one of your customers takes you up on it!

A couple applied for a $6,000 loan and the bank accidentally deposited $6,000,000.

The next day, they just suddenly shut down their service station and the day after, they disappeared.

Would you have run with the money too?

No, I would not had tried to run with the money. Something to do with being honest and not stupid. They are going to get caught.

Would be tempting, but how does one "run" with that without it being Cash?(didn't read article)

maybe they wired the money to an offshore account?

That would be the only way I could think of, but most regular Po Man Bank Accounts would not allow such Transfers.

Not if it was in scientific notation.

6e3 vs 6e6, they are right next to each other on the number pad.

Yeah, cause banks use scientific notation.

Deposit:

2e3 + 1e2 + 5e1 + 9e0 + 3e-1 + 4e-2

Who knows what they'd do... they can't send them to New Zealand because they'd be there already!

Jailtime for what? THe bank gave them a present. They didn't plan or plot to have that money deposited.
