I'm bored and slightly curious
So I'll install CS and load up both games player models on top of each other and see just how much "bigger" the source hitboxes are
Its not only that, the speed of the player effects accuracy as well. In source its almost like floating through the level your moving so fast. makes it alot easier for noobs to get up in your face and blast you with an auto shottie for say. The delay of movement when being shot is also decreased in source(think plasma rifle grip in halo) so basically you can pop in and out of cover very fast, which in CS if your being shot, chances are your getaway isnt going to be as effective, and more damage will be done you.
The units for world measurement are the same for both games
The max player speed is the same for both games( sv_maxspeed 320)
I just loaded up both Leet crew models and I must say - the CS:S is noticably more accurate in terms hitbox coverage(note I didn't load up the others for CS...I know that in CS:S the hitboxes are identical so I assume the same for CS)
The CS model has more overhang on every single hitbox piece then the CS:S model
not to mention the neck hitbox section on the CS model is silly as it has a 3" gap between where it stops and where the head begins in every sequence for the model
....uhhhh HELLO extend it - you had like 5 years to do it and even I could make that modification
It's a different engine...it feels different
but please don't say that CS is more "accurate" then CS:S
