15 and no gorilla, but, I was intentionally filtering out black stuff, so, why wouldn't I not notice it. Maybe if I watched it on a big screen instead of a tiny video square on my 1400x1050 resolution laptop 15" monitor screen I'd have noticed.
I counted 14. At first I was like, wtf, this black thing is getting in my way, then I saw the mask and I was like, WTF is a gorilla doing in the movie?
No, he says that because tests have proven out that VERY few people actually see it. Someone mentioned 30-40% don't see it, the real numbers are about 2.5% DO see it.
How do I know? I was the Et. All in "Reconstructive Memory and Perceptual blindness" (Nasser, 1993)
Of 2000 test subjects only 3 were able to actually see the UE and tell us what it was (a LARGE Red Ball) 2 more told us that there was something unusual moving though the field, but could not tell us what.
i dont know how anyone can miss the gorrila. if you follow the ball it completely goes past it several times. you're bound to notice the gorrillas face/body at least slightly when tracing the path of the ball. dunno though, maybe mistake it for the black shirt people.
