We're not in the office, he made a sexual joke about a female authority figure he disagrees with, in a rather flippant manner no less, and you post this nonsense? Wake up man, its not 1893, nobody agrees with your retarded Inquisition-era views on the world anymore. Nice try, I mean your kind almost sent us back to the dark ages plenty of times in the past 40 years but we the people are sick of your insanity and the resulting calamity it sparks.

Making a joke about a woman is not a crime.

I thought it was excessively vitriolic and scatological in nature along with being over the top. I could be wrong though.

And making a joke about black people and gays was acceptable not long ago.

Romney was not the best candidate. The guy could not even define himself and thus was not able truly differentiate his policies or views in a manner that would put him in stark true contrast to that of Obama. When given the chance to argue for free market views that he claims to support he went straight to the trying to out Democrat a Democrat in the debates.

In addition he never once articulated the argument of personal liberty vs government control. However this is mainly due to the religious base of voters that the GOP caters too and that is an authoritarian base which is in contrast to the moderates and undecideds who are not. In the end he lost because the GOP base of religious social conservatives is going bye, bye and in all honesty I believe Gary Johnson or Ron Paul would have done much better and taken Obama to task on a ton of issues because these guys actually stand for principles and ideas that most Americans can identify with socially and/or economically which trump the statist views held by both Romney and Obama and both Gary and Ron believe in individual freedom and liberty which is hard to argue against socially or economically without alienating people on either fronts.

WOW, did anyone read the comments in that article?

"Media Bias"
"Death Threats (that weren't reported by the MSM) caused Romney to resign instead of challenging Ohio/Nevada/Wisconsin/Florida results"
"African Americans" <at least they used the correct term
"Hurrican Sandy"
"the 47%" <how did Obama win the popular vote, then?
"Ann Coulter" <because she isn't extreme enough?
"Selfish Ron Paul voters"
"Too Moderate"
"Gas prices went down"
"Romney was the Architect of Obamacare" <at least kind of makes sense. Too bad he pledged to repeal it, even though only 25% want it repealed.

ALL of this is Republicans REFUSING to realize that their rediculous, extremist obstructionism and puritanical social social policies are the problem. They can't understand that the platform they are running couldn't have been elected 30 years ago, let alone now. This is not Ronald Reagan's party any more.

Republicans are mentally deranged.

Yes. They have especially de-assimilated from American society. They are now mentally damaged. How can we help them to re-integrate/re-assimilate with the rest of America? We need to help these people to get back with American culture. Some of them, like Ann Coulter, have no hope. Perhaps we can institutionalize them?

If Annie wants to go around besmirching the character and conduct of innocent women just because they are Democrats or liberals then she needs to feel the pain and anguish that she is causing otherwise she will continue to do it.

If you are going to expose me to your disgusting sexual thoughts about Coulter I'm going to spit in your face. Attack her words and her ideas please. Sexually violent words about woman are beneath the dignity of real men.

Apparently she didn't get the memo: every election predictor ON FOX was wrong. The rest of us knew months ago that Romney would lose.

Romney is one of the best presidential candidates the Republicans have ever fielded.

She obviously lives in a bubble.LOL, it's so great reading this stuff.HAHAHAHA *gasping* HAHAHAHAHA

She might not be wrong on that. The GOP presidential candidates have been awful. Since Reagan: GHWB, Dole BUSH, McCain, Romney.

No wonder they have lost the popular vote in 5 of the last 6 elections.

Well, moderation leads to big govt and people are getting sick of big govt extremism no matter how moderate it may be. Dr. Paul is a true extremist and he would've won.

The GOP being too moderate was the problem. If they don't pick moderate candidates, then they increase their popularity. Moderation is the root of the problem.
Wrong. The GOP is dead and should be put to rest. It cannot exist in our current society. I will explain. The populace has been taught not to think all the while being taught that they are thinkers. Their open minds have been filled with information that has been twisted to meet an agenda. They do not know any better. Even the simplest of concepts that relate to the management of a nation are beyond their grasp. Simple math is too hard, cause and effect a mystery.

The left should be given total and free reign to do as they wish. No checks, no balances, no restrictions. You want it, do it. With a Dem Congress and one more seat on the SCOTUS, the transformation will be complete. But, we should not wait. Let one party rule begin. The GOP cannot win. The deck is stacked against them and attempts to fight back will not succeed. All that can be done is to delay the inevitable. There is nothing to be gained from it - for anyone.

In order to build what you desire you sometimes have to tear down something first. The left wants to build something. Their education taught them that our country as it exists right now is evil and does not serve its people. Tear it down. Destined to learn only from their mistakes, we should let it play out. Give them free reign. Hasten the process. Let our Republic be torn down so that we may start anew. It is going to happen anyway so we should do everything possible to hasten the process. Why wait for what is inevitable? The sooner it falls the sooner it can be rebuilt.

When the dust settles and we start anew, the first place to start is with our schools. They are the root of our problems in this nation. Educators long ago realized that they had the ultimate power. That they could fill new, fresh minds with whatever ideas and principles they wished and that those concepts would be absorbed like a sponge. They made it happen. It is upon us. A huge success for them. But by no means a difficult task. I do not type this out of anger. I type this as a matter of fact. It is what it is and we have no choice but to deal with it.

From this article how many of you believe these things quoted below to be true? I ask this in a serious manner. I am not trolling or trying to create a stir. Remember that these questions are taken from the article and are structured for that article. These questions were asked of schoolchildren.
a) Republicans care about only the rich -- the top 1% -- and don't care about anyone else.

b) Republicans hate people of color and especially Latinos.

c) Republicans hate gays.

d) Republicans are racist.

e) It is the government that provides jobs. (I have asked that question many times in classrooms or assemblies. "Who is it that creates jobs in America?" The answer is invariably, without hesitation, "the government.")

f) Corporations are bad, and profits are very bad. Business shouldn't make profits; they should give any excess money they make to their employees.

g) Taxes are good; they provide the money for the government to take care of people.

h) Government should expand and take care of everyone in the country.

i) America, rather than being a force for good in the world, has been a force for evil.

j) Government has an unlimited source of funds. (When I ask, "Where is the government going to get the money to do all these things you want it to do?," the answer is "taxes.")

Now comes the hard part. If you can honestly answer these questions you will be doing yourself a great service. Questioning authority was a very important part of our society as it used to exist. That's no longer the case. Our future success will depend on regaining that ability.

If you feel the items above to be truisms, where did you learn these things? Who taught them to you? Were you taught to question the things that you were told were true? Were you taught to think on an individual basis as well as collectively? Do you accept what you are told as truth based solely on the source?

Everything is about to change. The changes will be enormous and far reaching. The majority of us will eventually be equal. Not happy, but equal. It will be important to remember that it's what you wanted because only then will you see the error of your ways.

A Civil War by the GOP? A battle that cannot be won and one that should not be attempted. It's a waste of resources that will be needed at a later date.

I'll give it a shot while noticing the strawman version of the questions.

a) Republicans overwelmingly back policies that favor the rich over the middle class/poor.
b) Republicans foster an environment that make it uncomfortable if not downright hostile for people of color. Refusing to loudly denounce extremists, dog whistles, etc.
c) Republicans didn't even want gay people serving our country in the military. Nuff said.
d) I won't say the Republican party is a racist party but if someone is racist the odds are overwelming they are Republican.
e) Govt does provide some jobs but creates an environment allowing businesses to be created and thrive. It's kind of a co-op.
f) Corporations like everyone else can do bad things and need regulating. Nobody said profits are bad. Take a look at how much ratio of CEO-worker pay has skyrocketed in the last 20-30 years. It has gotten so out of wack compared to other countries. I guess CEOs are the only ones who do work.
g)Taxes are necessary.
h) Nobody has ever said that
i) You have some serious blinders if you are unwilling to admit things America has done wrong. It's the first step in correcting flaws.
j) I'm sure your concern for taxes is evident when we are giving 5B in yearly tax breaks to the oil industry. Republicans have little concern for spending when its for their agenda

You know, it doesn't matter what the Republicans do. Just read the posts in this forum. The Republican party has attracted and made acceptable the spewing of racial hatred and the repetitive use of lies.

The Republicans CAN'T attract minorities due to the nature of its current members AND what they have been encouraged to do and say.

On the spending side you are absolutely correct. The GOP under bush and still is a big spending party.

On the social side they need to move towards the center on social issues. On abortion that is an easy fix to towards the standard accepted pro-life stance with exceptions for rape, incest and mothers life. It floors me all these extreme right wingers who say no to any abortion even when the mothers life is at stake.

On gay issues be the party of states rights and small government. Let it be a states right issue and never bring it up again. The writing is on the wall the bible thumpers spent a ton of money and went 0-4 on gay marriage in this election. Which brought a smile to my face everyone has the right to get married and be miserable lol.

The best path for the party is to be really fiscally conservative like under newt in the 90's and move more towards libertarians on social issues. And quit being the party of wanting to start a new war every week to keep military spending high.

The best parts gonna be whenever some Republican makes a statement designed to attract minorities and the next day some Tea Party representitive tweets some racist crap.

It's going to look like a comedy show.

One day Republicans put up a hispanic candidate the next day some Republican rep. calls him a beautiful ray of sunshine.

Sorry, Republicans. The sins of your past will haunt you for a generation.

In a nutshell, don't blame Romney, blame the tea party.

I heard her make this argument on Hannity yesterday, and his immediate response was "are you blaming the tea party?" And she replied "no, no, not blaming the tea party, blaming 'purists'." Of course, all the purists are in the tea party, and the tea party is 90% purists. LOL

Doesn't make sense. She predicted Romney would lose precisely because he wasn't a purist.

+1

I personally think the GWB Reign did so much damage to the GOP that I doubt they will be able to recover. Anyone who was a Moderate bailed a looong time ago and all that is left are extremists or ball lickers like Boehner who are worried about a primary from another radical.

Can you point me to those right-wingers? I've met exactly zero pro-lifers who make no exception for the mother's life being at stake, or who demand the mother die if it will save the child.

On gay issues be the party of states rights and small government. Let it be a states right issue and never bring it up again. The writing is on the wall the bible thumpers spent a ton of money and went 0-4 on gay marriage in this election. I think most on the right would agree with leaving it a state issue. What I'm not in favor of is the Roe v. Wade of gay marriage: an across the board mandate in either position's favor.

It's not going to be that simple though. Opposition to gay marriage has been portrayed as motivated fundamentally by bigotry, which is, ironically, bigoted. The one thing proponents of gay marriage will not do is take the opposition seriously.

The best path for the party is to be really fiscally conservative like under newt in the 90's and move more towards libertarians on social issues. And quit being the party of wanting to start a new war every week to keep military spending high.

If all we have to do is let gay marriage be a state issue, which it already is, and not demand no exceptions to the banning of abortion, then I'd say we're generally already there.

I really sometimes think the left has pulled off a very important psychological victory. They more than any have the most extreme position on abortion: No restrictions allowed. None. Yet the right is considered extreme on abortion. Similar with gay marriage. If you oppose it, you're homophobic and bigoted. There can be no principled opposition to it, in their eyes. The irony, as I said earlier, is that this is a bigoted position. And yet the right is left holding the extremism moniker.

Ann Coulter saying something that makes sense? I guess that falls into the "monkeys typing Shakespeare" category.

I caught a bit of one of the talking head shows this morning. David Frum (thinking conservative columnist) was on and he essentially said that the GOP masses have been hoodwinked and defrauded by the conservative entertainment wing. Truer words have never been spoken.

Personally I'm hoping for a split between the conservatives and the moral authoritarians-but I doubt that will ever happen. As long as the GOP insists on imposing their moral code on all of us and insists on stepping in and regulating nearly every aspect of what should be private decisions, and as long as their legislative representatives consistently act and vote as a monolithic block, I could never see supporting any of them ever again. That is essentially why Scott Brown lost, and others like him in the future are doomed.
