Could you make it in the UFC?

Have had this argument with my little brother. He claims he could go in the ufc and hang with those dudes. I laugh at this notion. Also when watching ufc my wife says I should go out for it. I tell her no way I'm not nearly tough enough for that.

Hmm let me see. I work out daily, I train in judo, bjj, and muay thai, and I have a black belt in TKD.

I'm going to say that anyone around my weight class in the UFC would beat my freaking skull in.

Nope, I would probably soil myself and start crying like a little girl.

The key is to take your feces and smear it all over yourself. You can't lose!

I'd get the shit beat out of me...and I'm in decent shape. Maybe after years of training I might be able to hang...

Me thinks your wife wants a split without the nasty divorce.

ON TOPIC: I would get destroyed so badly, that the viral video of my beating would become more popular than the Star Wars Kid.

UFC is about way more than being strong and in shape. You have to be a crazy motherfucker who is immune to pain to get anywhere.

If I had the same body and skills as the best UFC fighter, I still wouldn't be able to make it in the UFC, because I'm just not the kind of guy who can dish out, much less take, an ass-whooping.

P.S. How old is your little brother, 13? My stupid cousin thought he'd be an awesome special forces sniper because he played Halo. But that's partly because he has some sort of mental disability (I don't know the official name for it, but its symptoms can be summed up with the words "makes kids into annoying little shits who act 13 regardless of their age.").

Yeah I was listening to Urijah Faber on Lebatard's show, talking about his recent fight where he broke his right hand in the first round and dislocated his thumb in on left in the third round, yet still fought through to the end, not to mention the 12 dudes he took on in a street brawl in Bali. Sounds like one tough mofo.

shit, they send me a check each month so I don't tryout. They know it'd just be me winning each match...like hell I would do a me versus all other fighters at the same time.

Even invite the audience to participate.

Except I'd still win.

it sucks to be so great sometimes. :(

Of course you'd fight in your $200 jeans too, right?

Your weight class? I weigh 245, I'd really get my head bashed in.

Two types that I'm not interested in taking on: 1) wrestlers and 2) boxers

So the chance I'd take a shot at an athlete trained in both hovers around 0%.

My strategy would be the sucker punch the guy when he thinks we're going to touch gloves. Of course the strength of my punch probably wouldn't even phase him and likely just break all the bones in my hand instead.

When I'm actively competing in judo/bjj I'm 155. Right now I'm sitting at 165.

I have a fairly high pain tolerance (shattered a hand and kept playing football, broken collar bones, torn ligaments in multiple places and I usually laugh when something like that happens) and a fairly in shape guy at 6 foot 2 205 lbs...but against those professionals I wouldn't stand a chance.

Edit: I have been wanting to take classes though.

I do have a goal of fighting MMA regularly before I'm 30. I'm waiting for my black belt in judo and purple belt in bjj. I should have my black belt in judo by the end of the summer.

I'll never be UFC caliber however.

I used to box in my late teens, and took kenpo for a while, but no I would get smashed in half a second.
