I'm 28 and I can't even imagine having my own kid. Though it sounds like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. OP's cousin would have had to have been 17 or 18 when she had her daughter.

When I was a sophomore (14-15), one girl who had previously dropped out of 8th and 9th grade when she got pregnant the first two times, was going to drop out again for her third. That's right, a 15 year old girl having to drop out a third and final time because she was pregnant again. FWIW, apparently they were all by the same guy at least, a doper guy 3 years older with significant mental/anger issues

While that was the extreme case of my small town high school class of about 50, she was only one of about 8-10 girls in my class who had 1 or more before 18. I don't really keep up with any of them anymore, but there only one that is doing anything with her life as far as I know. She has two by the same guy who she's now married to. Also, she went to vocational school her last 2 years in HS while raising her kids and now she's a nurse, and presumably doing fairly well

edit:

Also, my 55 y/o uncle has been a step great grandpa for a few years. His wife is 62 and had kids early from her first marriage. She has a daughter about 47 I think, with 5 kids from 12-34. her oldest has an 18 year old with a couple of kids now. They have like 15 grandkids and 2 or 3 greats. I don't believe any of them are married, and I know most if not all of them are on welfare/foodstamps

What kind of backwards area are you from? I had a class of 550 in high school and knew of zero pregnancies...

If you can't even imagine having your own kid at 28, I'd venture to say that you live a very childish existence...

I'm 27, and I feel the same way. I just can't imagine bearing that responsibility. I guess it's just not for everyone.

I don't know how teenagers do it, when they also have school to worry about.

Supposedly the rate of teen pregnancy went way down after the show "Teen Mom" went on the air and kids could see what it's really like to have a baby.

We need to know where your cousin lives so we know which state to make fun of.

a 15yr old having a child ? man that still amazes me (in disgusting way) till this day.

You didn't have sex as a teen? sad.

Anyway. Not many want a kid at 14, but some don't believe in abortion either.

My mom was a OB-GYN nurse and quite a few young girls ended up pregnant on birth control and even using condoms as backup because they didn't know all the things that can make a bc pill not work.

On my wife's side of the family (actually, one of her inlaws), there was recently this:

Girl had baby at 18
Her mom had her at 15
Her mom had her at 15
Her mom had her at 15

Great, Great grandmother @ 63 years old.
Great grandmother @ 45
Grandmother @ 30

(not to mention that there were 3 generations of women in that group that had a child at 15).

There you go.

Rural Oklahoma. It's worse here than a lot of places, but don't kid yourself. There were pregnancies in your class you just didn't know about it.

For about twenty years my mom taught at a public school for pregnant kids. Plenty of 12 year olds having kids.

Eventually the school closed. There were still plenty of pregnant kids in the district but it had become socially acceptable so the pregnant kids just stayed at their normal schools.

Still boggles my mind.

Not really. I used to know a woman was a grand mom when she was in her early 30's. She gave birth to her daughter when she was about 16 or so and her daughter did the same, gave birth in her 16-17. Too early IMO but it was not my life.

What's really sad is she's been laid more than most above and they are angry about that.

Or he just does not want his life ruled by kids?

KT

He doesn't have to WANT to have kids or to HAVE kids... but that isn't what I interpreted him as saying. I interpreted him as saying that he wasn't responsible enough at his age to even consider it.

You can't exactly hide a pregnancy... It also would have spread like wildfire because of how rare it would have been.

This is simply a poor attempt of yours to justify your poor behavior and attitudes. You have absolutely no reasoning behind thinking this aside from you WISHING it were true.

Remember folks... you cannot just MAKE UP things about people and then pretend they are facts and judge them. Absolutely ridiculous.

Have you taken care of a dog? It is a step above that. Can you handle a dog?

Don't turn it into more than it truly is.

You may want to look in the mirror bro. She's probably gotten laid more than you as well with your angry attitude.
