Sorry, have to agree with everyone else. The only way you should do this is to spec out a complete system from a reputable vendor, give him explicit instructions on how to order it from them, and then ask him politely to send you a check for your $200-500 consulting fee after that is all done.

It just reeks of scam, and even if not - is not worth getting involved in. As others have said, it is not like there is a shortage of PC builders in miami etc. If I had to guess, I would assume that at the "last second" something would come up and he would need you to order the parts etc.

You sound determined to try - but I wouldn't want a buch of stolen CC pc parts showing up on my doorstep. And I wouldn't want to have to support a PC I built for a stranger 2000 miles away.

Well go for it and tell us later your experience.
Should send him a wirtten contract and let him SIGN for it that you are NOT RESPONSIBLE for any HARDWARE DAMAGE whatsoever and WARRANTIES comes with the HARDWARE VENDOR not YOU

Very good opinion, thank you very much for your input. Thats precisely what I thought could happen, and I am determine not to fork out any dime.

also does anyone know if a stolen good was shipped to me, and wihtout me knowing it and i shipped it back out again, will the CC company held me for accountable.?

I was selling something on ebay, and then this guy called Jack won my item.
Only then he found out that this is not what he wants, he agrees on paying me the list fee and the fee associated with it. Then he found out that I am good with computer and blah blah. Here is the thing,

Point 1. He would buy the parts and send it to me , or I can send him the link and he will buy it and send it to me. No money involved on my part

Point 2. He lives in Miami, but work in D.R. Has an ebay account with 146 positive rating, 0 negative feedback. Email matched with his ebay account

how was the netsex?

roger that !! thanks.

The thing that interested me the most is that article about him, semm like he been around for pretty long , if he really is a scammer then I'd like get him arrested or something, since that article mentioned something that he disappeared or whatever ?!?

scammity scam scam scam

even if it is not, you and your grandchildren will be supporting that PC 😛

I would say just get a contract in writing, what's included in the consulting service, warranty, etc. Get half of the consulting fee first, have him send the parts (or send you money to buy the parts), put it together and get the second half of the consulting fee and send the computer out.

There are some rich ppl out there that are computer dumb. Be careful, but I think it would be a great experience whether it turns out good or not. Let me know how it turns out.

rich people don't have people that they just met on ebay by accident build them $5K computers.....

and if he is legit it is beyond me why he would get someone he met on ebay and who can't even speak properly to build him a vey expensive computer

Get him to fly you out to Miami for a few days, and cover your hotel charge. Most casino's have a hotel too, if he really owns it you can stay there. Then just go around with him to local stores and get all your parts there, and build it with him. That way you know it's not a scam. Plus you get a free trip to Miami 😉
