Could someone help me diagnose why my cable modem won't get a cable signal?

I tried another modem and same problem. They want to charge me because they are still convinced I am an idiot and the problem is on my end.

They have never charged me when it's been on their end.
In fact, they came out to hook me up. I was outside with the installer. He was in the box and the lid was open. Then he stood up, walked away, got in his van and left. Not a word.
I assumed he was going upstream to do something else. An hour later he wasn't back and I still had no Internet. Called Comcast and they said he reported that I was hooked up and running. They had someone else there to finish within the hour. No charges.

Just throwing this out there, I setup the comcast modem for my bosses house and couldn't get it to connect to comcast. I thought it was this old 5 way splitter he was using, turns out he had a amplifier installed as well which was causing the issue. Bypassed amp and all was good.

the tech resolves the trouble call as chargeable or not. Don't worry about what the person on the phone says
