I think America could do it - but to what end? I am an American and I have no interest in the rest of the world from a territorial point of view.

It could be done but at a great cost of human life, and of course we could not do it with the current government, so there would have to be revolution and a military power installed. In the end we would rule the world yes, but be prisoners to a military government.

I like things the way they are, any American dissatisfied with the area of land we have now is welcome to leave.

The only way would be to use a lot of extremely large hydrogen bombs with some kind of stealth delivery system (so they don't see the missiles comming). Very big hydrogen bombs are well, very big boom. Not likely to turn out favorable in any way.

We could take over the worls, yes, there would be nothing left, but yeah we could do it. If we were to take over the world we would do it through key alliances, like Britain, Israel, Japan etc. We would use their bases as jump off points, and their men to complement our own. Do it one country at a time, not all at once. Eventually the alliance would merge and yes America would have taken over the world at a terrible cost. More terrible would be if it really were a world war 3. To answer your question we would win/lose that in about 30 min (the time it would take to unleash a few of our H-bombs that would be enough to destroy the world)
