Could a hamburger be cooked in bacon grease?

You can, but the outside may scortch before the inside gets to temperature. bacon grease cooks things fast.

Infused olive oil is a favorite of mine if I feel like an exotic burger :)

Hmmm, good point, maybe I'll have to keep it on low heat and slow-cook it.

if you have never cooked at a place like this, you probably dont know they clean the grills often, which would make this a nonissue unless you ordered a beef patty with your breakfast. the breakfast to lunch switch includes cleaning (and usually scrubbing) the grill to make sure you dont taste eggs and bacon in your club sammich they toast on there. i was a cook for a while, never seen a place that didnt do it. hell, even carls jr did it when i was in high school and cooked breakfast. i hated... hated to clean the grill there. everyday at 11am.

sure. if you throw it into a inch of grease. what about useing very little (just to keep it non-stick)and doing that?

What proportion do you use for that?

My grandmother always kept the bacon "drippings" as she called it, in a tupperware container in the fridge. She would use it instead of oil any time she cooked. Nothing like grandma's cooking !

Well, these are preshaped frozen patties, not what I would handmake from ground beef. Maybe I'll just set a stick of butter atop the patty while it cooks. Then when I flip the patty, it'll cook in the butter/bacon grease mix while I set the cheese atop the patty.

I cook most things in bacon grease. There is nothing better.

I've actually tasted pure MSG salt. took a field trip to an amino acids factory in my high school Japanese class (Ajinomoto was the company--our teacher felt that it was appropriate). They passed around pure MSG in a little bottle. I put some on my tongue...oddly enough, it tastes like Chinese take-out.

I have a bottle of msg at my cabin. They used to sell it as a spice back in the day.
