sure but why?

I figured I'd cook the bacon first, and I'm too lazy to bother cleaning the pan in between.

This reminds me though, I need to pick up some cheese. I wonder if I can find pepperjack...
Wow...I think you should call this piece of art "Heart Attack on Bun":D
I like the way you think...and your name...Steve is a good name...

Seriously, just thought of this a moment ago. I cooked my eggs this morning in the grease of freshly cooked bacon, as I always do. I wonder if I could do the same with a beef patty? What do you think?

UPDATE: The one and only bacon burger, literally.

holy! my heart hurts just looking at it! <--- picture of the blood getting stuck in my head as my heart explodes

I don't think that was huge by anyone's standards...it was more like a Krystal burger. :p

You should sell that bacon burger idea to Burger King...sounds like something they would have on their breakfast menu. Except with a sausage patty on there as well for good measure.

Pretty much the same. They're equally nasty.

I know this is just a silly thread and I hate to inject some intelligence into it, but I can't help myself.

Assuming you're pan frying these burgers as opposed to grilling, hamburger will release a lot of water and grease during the cooking process anyway. This will necessitate you draining it off before finishing the burgers to give them a nice browning. Well, what's going to happen to all that bacon grease? You're going to pour it off and not much flavor will be absorbed into the burgers.

Frying in bacon grease is more reserved for dryer items.

If I really wanted bacon flavor in the burger I would top it with bacon or after frying the bacon I would crumple it finely and put it back into the hamburger before I fried them.

I agree :D

I cook burgers and bacon for my husband and I on our weber Q. Bacon cooked on a grill just somehow is so much more tasty than cooked in a frying pan. Don't think I'd want to cook the burgers IN the bacon grease... seems like overkill.

This whole topic makes me think of the Wendy's Baconator :D

Surprised I missed this thread for being so old.
Yes you can use bacon grease for a lot of cooking. In efforts to save money as well as providing long term energy in cold climates such as here in Alaska. Bacon grease is literally saved, and sometimes even stored for later cooking. While I do myself use bacon grease for cooking, I know a few people that add their bacon grease to their pancakes/eggs/bacon breakfasts... thats a little too much for me though.

Nearly any kind of animal fat can be used as grease for cooking. Some tastes good, others not so good.

I'm surprised I forgot to post a picture of this here. It's the YGBK (You Gotta Be Kidding) burger from Charlie's Alehouse up in Andersonville. Two half pound patties, cheese, grilled onions, bacon, and slices of ham. I order mine with two top buns.
