Can't believe the OP has never seen those signs before. There's a smaller decal version that is found on most of the pumps west of the Mississippi.
I've lived west of the Mississip for 31 years and I've never seen that before.
I'm not talking about a zombie apocalypse, I'm talking about a number of places west of the Mississippi. More and more, you're sounding like a metro waste of space and believe me, women will recognize your lack of skillz. This is the minimum level you need to reach before leaving home. You have failed. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Sad but, I always suspected there were people like this.
Another 'yout' who left the nest before learning to fly.
That's a good point. While I was waiting 10 minutes for the old person in front of me to learn how to pump gas (for the millionth time), I watched an old woman pull up with the pump on the right side but the gas cap on the left side of the car. She tried doing exactly what you describe, but it wasn't long enough.
I went to an Arco station a while ago and saw a sign that said "Please do not drive away with nossle."
Leads me to believe some people ahve actually done that.

Some people like to hold the nozzle like they hold their gun
This is why that sign is there:

it pains me to watch it in its entirety.

I just got my costco membership a couple weeks ago, so this is the first time I bought gas there. This is a real sign. No bullshit, no photoshop.

It's due to the nozzles reaching both sides of the cars.
