I just got my costco membership a couple weeks ago, so this is the first time I bought gas there. This is a real sign. No bullshit, no photoshop.

Yeah well I think costco is retarded. Who sells bulk beef and then sets up tiny checkout lines? I can't fit my 6 month toilet paper purchase on that!

If you wiped less often, 6 months of toilet paper would only be like 2 or 3 rolls.

at least they didn't deem their entire clientele too dumb to pump their own gas...or maybe this is bordering one of 'those' states.

I believe people would do that. If you park your car with the gas door on the opposite side, I could imagine a person thinking that he could rope it over the trunk and plug it in upsidedown without knowing the problems with it.

This is exactly it. When it's packed on the weekends they direct people in to get gas even if it's on the opposite of the pump from their gas door. I've seen more than one person do this and cause a gas geyser before they noticed it and stopped it.

That's a good point. While I was waiting 10 minutes for the old person in front of me to learn how to pump gas (for the millionth time), I watched an old woman pull up with the pump on the right side but the gas cap on the left side of the car. She tried doing exactly what you describe, but it wasn't long enough.

I used to live nearby one of "those" states. It was awesome.

No standing outside in -10°F or 110°F weather. :D

Can't believe the OP has never seen those signs before. There's a smaller decal version that is found on most of the pumps west of the Mississippi.

Based on the fact that the OP doesn't know how to drive, it can be assumed some people don't know how to fuel their vehicles.

I've lived west of the Mississip for 31 years and I've never seen that before.
