I don't have a membership but have heard great things about them like cheap stuff etc. What I wanna know is how many people buy electronics from out there ? I wanna buy some appliances and a TV. The price difference is like $40 from best buy. Should I get the membership and buy the stuff out there ?
do they offer a service plan like best buy ?

I don't know about a service plan...but I think a Costco card is worth it if you use it for more than one purchase. I use mine all the time for food (great deals on Chicken).
 
Not as good as they used to be but still a good deal. If you see something you want..grab it because it may not be around long and may not be restocked. It is nice to be able to go to one place and get nearly everything you need instead of burning 2.50 a gallon gas trying to hunt down something that may only be a few bucks cheaper and not in stock. I'am still a member.
 
buying electronics is about the same price as other places but you'll save so much money on other things. food and toiletries are very cheap at costco / sam's club
 
my mom got her new appliances at a smaller chain which includes free delivery and recycling of your old appliances.
don't forget to include those cost when you are shopping around.

Used to be that way. IIRC membership is now open to anyone who pays the annual membership fee.

Though there are different levels of membership.

Agreed. I know a number of people who've bought electronics at Costco and been satisfied.

Costco's quality of merchandise is much higher than Sam's Club, IMO.

i believe, but am not positive, that was back when it was called "Price Club". I think when they switched the name to Costco they also changed their policy.

Also, IIRC Costco has a fantastic return policy, much better than most other electronics vendors.
 
you have to find a way in, once you are in, you can renew forever..

Costco is awesome, save tons of money doing grocery shopping there...

I haven't bought any big electronics, but they seem to be better than other B&M stores, I have bought a lot of appliance though, good stuff :thumbsup:
 
I heard people share cards as you get two. How does that work ? A co-worker is offering to share with me. Do you get two seperate cards or is it one card and another member ?
 
The main reason to shop at Costco is the return policy. They recently set a limit of six months on computers. Otherwise, there's NO time limit on ANYTHING to be returned for a full refund. I know you folks are an honest bunch, but this goes for anything - food, clothes, software... I was in line last week returning a comp game and a lady in front of me was returning half a platter of sushi, saying it went bad after two weeks in the fridge. Money back no questions asked, don't even need a receipt, your purchases are tracked with your membership.

The main reason to shop at Costco is their great prices. The return policy is nice, and if you'd have no qualms about returning half eaten food, good for you.
 
I work at costco. First of all membership fee is 45 dollars for a normal annual membership. If you own or manage a business, you can sign up for a business account for 45 dollars. Each level of membership allows a maximum of 2 people under each account, one primary and one secondary. Only with the exception of the business member, which you can add an additional 2 people for $35. High rollers who spend more than 3000 dollars a month usually get recommended to upgrade to the executive card which gives you a 2 percent return on every purchase at costco. It's not a whole lot, but im sure people would love the extra money.

Now for returns. You can return everything at costco ranging from used tampons (im not kidding) to grapes (must be at least half entact), and only with the exception of computers which is 6 months. I've seen people return expensive message chairs to dryers and washing machines from 5 years ago. When returning items, a receipt is necessary in order to get a refund back to however you paid it with. If not, store credit will be issued. Again costco has probably (in my opinion) one of the best return policies in the industry. You're probably wondering how costco makes money with all those returns. haha.

If your purchasing computer parts, costco would not be your option because you can find much cheaper stuff online.
