I think you can extrapolate from his message that even though there are those that do not engage in illegal/ruinous behavior, that the responsibility is still there as a community to fight it.

Maybe that would be a better way to interpret what he is saying?

As for attacking the personality, maybe I wouldn't take a drink if offered by Bill Cosby, but as to this issue, he is right on the money. Its too bad that while Bill Cosby was busy entertaining us and making his fortune, The Good Reverend J Jackson was busy growing his flock of the needy and repressed.

i love when he debated some black Rolling Stones Collumnist about the problem with high school dropout rates among black students... THE RS guy kept saying, "Sorry that black teens don't speak 'the Queen's English." He was trying to make excuses for poor writing skills among the majority of black students. Bill simply pointed out that there was a 60% drop-out rate among black students in highschool today. The RS guy was speechless.
 
by the way, bill is not a minister, nor did he ever aspire to be a plitical leader. but jesse jackson does have an illigitimate love child, who he ignored for years... though that's not why i think jesse affirmative jackson is a moron.

Anyhow, cosby is a bribe giving to hush up deadbeat dad who made his career avoiding the racism issue as he said himself it makes the white audience upset, now that he made millions playing a white family on tv and a non-racist issuedealing with-PC stand up comedian career he thinks he has any leg to stand on calling those who can't ignore reality or pay off problems irresponsible now that he has his "come-upins" he can stuff it. You can't have your cake and eat it too. His credibility is nil with anyone but racist whites eagerly looking for fodder to justify their hate or those that dont know better.

Where was he before he got his millions? Oh yeah, rubbing noses with rich whites to make cash, he is no better then a rapper who sells out to make mad bling by rapping about self destructive hate.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Cultures are not just different... some are better than others. The contemporary "culture" that has permeated much (but thankfully not all) of the African american community has nothing to do with their ethic pride, civil rights, or anything of the sort... but rather is based on the tenets of stubborn ignorance, violence, laziness, drug abuse, and criminal activity. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and George Washington Carver would be ashamed.

As soon as the African-american community faces that many of its members have a problem, they can start working on fixing these issues. That's what Cosby is trying to do.

Ever thought that they see through white cultures BS and know they are no better and have a lot of the same faults? Just whites have more money and the power to keep it behind the curtains. Both cultures are flawed and neither have any room to point fingers.

I think he is a witty funny guy and I like his sense of humor, but on the issues of race he is far too detached from where he has come from and played too many fictional characters to be a good judge anymore imo.

His flawed accusations have been shredded time and time again for being out of touch and not based in reality, but the conservative media LOVES to jump on his comments, he should be ashamed as he should damn well know he may mean well even though he may be out of touch but he is being used to reenforce negative stereotypes with the racist aspect of american media again and again.

Any race, be it white, black, Hispanic, etc., will become or remain subservient as long as education (reading, writing, math) remains a secondary priority.

There are African american students here at the medical school, as well as the graduate school... they are educated, articulate and civil. There aren't many though? Is it because of discrimination? Or because education is not a priority for so many black families?

I guess according to Steeplerot being in medical school makes these students traitors to their race, right? Cause the whole "education" thing is just something white people made up to keep the black man down.

I wasen't speaking to you specificlly (to meuge) and I was not using some lame strawman like cosby is a race traitor, I was saying he is up in his ivory tower that he got up to by being a white sideshow and he is not helping by talking down to people when he is out of touch.
