Bill Cosby tells it like it is once more to the suffering helpless victims of NO

---
NewsMax via FARK
"Humorist Bill Cosby lectured black residents of New Orleans over the weekend, saying their community was "wounded" by crime even before Hurricane Katrina ravaged the city and killed their neighbors.

"It's painful, but we can't cleanse ourselves unless we look at the wound," Cosby told the rally of about 2,000 people at the city's convention center, where thousands of Katrina evacuees had gathered seven months earlier.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you had the highest murder rate, unto each other. You were dealing drugs to each other. You were impregnating our 13-, 12-, 11-year-old children," he said, in quotes picked up by Reuters.

"What kind of a village is that?""
-----

(Jesse Jackson was also on hand, to preach victim culture instead of self-reliance.)

It's nice to see at least one African-American leader telling the "victims of society" to take responsibility for themselves and clean up their own community. Even if The Man is Keeping You Down you can still have a clean, safe, productive community if enough of the citizens care enough to make it that way.

Why doesn't Bill just move there with his millions and start a homeless shelter and actually do something about it
instead of being an Uncle Tom and telling it like he sees it from his California mansion?

I'm sure that a few thousand NO residents would like him to adopt them.

Is that your way of saying you disagree with what he says? Or are you awaiting Jesse Jackson, for instance, to do the same?

Just curious.

So they can continue to not take responsibility for themselves?

Cosby earned his millions through decades of work. Unless you are living in a bare studio apartment and living on beans and rice so that you can send your wages to NO you have no standing to say that he should give up his own money.

Also, if you read Stowe's novel Uncle Tom was a devout Christian who held to his convictions until his death. He only served quietly because his faith told him to, not out of weakness or fear.

Calling him an Uncle Tom sure fixes the issues doesnt it?

Yes... let's have a few more million people hanging off the necks of the rest of us. Natural disasters happen... it's a function of life. Whatever monetary compensations they were given out of charity and from insurance are equivalent to what anyone else would get under the circumstances. Now we have hundreds of thousands that are happy to be out of work on gov't assistance. If they want their city rebuilt, they should do what every other community in history has done to rebuit their ravaged town/city/etc... - they have to work to rebuild it themselves.

From Wiki:

In 1997, Cosby was the target of allegations from Autumn Jackson, a young woman who claimed she was his daughter. In court, Cosby testified that he had sex once with Jackson's mother, when he was already married to his wife. Cosby further admitted he gave financial support to Jackson's mother. Cosby said he told Jackson he would be a father figure to her, but that he was not her father. Autumn Jackson was later convicted on extortion charges.

In January 2005 a woman alleged she was drugged and fondled by Cosby in May 2004. In a statement from Cosby's publicist, Cosby's attorney said, "the charges are categorically false and we have no further comment." Pennsylvania authorities found "insufficient credible and admissible evidence" to support the woman's claims, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor.

In February 2005 a second woman, California lawyer Tamara Green (nee Lucier), came forward alleging that in the 1970s she was drugged and groped by Cosby. Cosby's attorney has denied any merit to the allegations, stating "Mr. Cosby does not have any knowledge of a woman named Tamara Green or Tamara Lucia."

While prosecutors have declined to press charges against Cosby, the first accuser has filed a federal civil suit against the performer. Attorneys for the woman suing Bill Cosby for sexual assault claim that at least ten other women are prepared to testify about "prior similar sexual assaults and/or drugging incidents" perpetrated by the comedian.

And Bill is giving advice on taking responsibility?

Hmm, he has a damn good point about not being victims, granted asking everyone to join his submissive wanna be white club is not part of standing up for yourself, white culture is just as flawed and corrupt as african americans, it's not about white and black here, it's the view of ourselves we all have from a corrupt consumerist culture. bigots everywhere rejoice, bill cosby makes himself look like a tool for you once again.

Is that what he said, every single one of them was doing that?
Read it again and let us know if you come to that silly conclusion again.

If it does not apply to everyone then he needs to STFU and quit saying you when it only applies to a small percentage of the people displaced.

Please, you cant be this obtuse can you? He is talking about the Black community and the issues within it. He is in no way saying every single person was a drug dealer or murderer. But the community as a whole had serious issues before Katrina. Something Jackson, Sharpton and Nagin want to overlook and instead focus on contiuning the victim route.
