Ice...i'm not certain, but i think the 8k3a's have a 1/5 pci 2/5 agp divider, which would allow your mem to go higher, without stress to HDD, video, and other cards. I know they 8k5a's have one, but check for it on the 8k3a

Fried.

yeah, 1/5 PCI/AGP divider lets me go up to the mid 180's but at 188, PCI is running over spec anyhow (188/5) = 38 MHz. Also, I lose the 4:5 mem ratio as soon as the FSB hits 166 MHz. I have a crystal orb laying around, so I may swap my northbridge heatsink for it to see if the chipset is the problem. Staying up @ 189*9.5 would be very nice :)

Been running two 512MB sticks of Corsair XMs3200c2 for the last month. Maxes out at 387DDR, 2.5-3-3-7, 2.7v on my P4B533E/2.26B.

Pulled out one stick of RAM to see how fast I could go with just one stick.

So far I'm up to 160FSB, DDR426 @ 2.5-3-3-7, 2.7v (passed Memtest86, all 11 testes looped for 8 hrs and Prime95 v2.29 for 7 hrs with zero errs).

I'm headed for 166FSB. Will stay at 160FSB this weekend and try 166 on Monday.

If all the planets line up correctly I'll be swapping in a 2.53B later next week. Hopefully I can run it at or near 160FSB to get 3+ GHZ and 420+ DDR. /me crosses fingers!

Interesting. I ordered a 512MB stick of Corsair PC3500 (P/N CMX512-3500C2PT)Friday. I'm curious as to what the bandwidth will look like on my board with 150 fsb and 4:6 ratio. This P4 likes lots of bandwidth and my board is simply not up to the task. I'm trying to wait and see what Granite Bay will produce but if a reliable 32 bit Rambus board comes along with a agp/pci lock, hyperThreading, future upgradeability, etc., i might just bite. Asus is close but their P4T-533 is just too unreliable. Hopefully DDR-II offers some reliable performance.

My two XMS3500C2 512-meggers are at my house (Fedex 2-day delivered it coast-to-coast in one day!!) I'll do some testing later tonight.

At 150 MHZ 4:6 (450MHZ DDR) my XMS3500(512MB stick) runs at 2,3,3,7,auto. The performance in PC Mark is actually lower though than at 150 FSB 4:5 and 2,2,2,6,1t (375 MHZ DDR). This memory is impressive. Wish I could say the same for my chipset and bios. I have another 512 MB stick on the way too. I wanna be able to run UT2003 without any problems.
