anything over 512 megs is a waste unless your doing hi end video or cad stuff. i dont know what the big deal over corsair ram is about, samsung ram works just fine and it beat corsair in a recent shootout.

I am glad I stocked up on samsung when it was really cheap a few months ago. I have 512mb in my system now and have 512 more laying around for a new project(whenever that will be)

Supply and demand. The ONLY RAM chipset manufacturer in the U.S. is Crucial/Micron, and they don't sell to everyone.
The rest of the stuff, be it RAM that is being repackaged, or Chipsets to be mounted on imported PC platforms come
from Asia, and the receiving ports for Asian export is the West Coast.

We don't make anything for computers in the U.S. anymore, except for Crucial RAM.

Blah! The 256 stick of Corsiar XMS PC3000 was 96 bucks! Now the XMS stick of 2700 is 100! :disgust: I wasnt planning on getting a new PC until after X-mas, but... Errrrrrr, this is mean.

It looks like S V C is still able to hold the price down for now.
There is only a 5 week backlog of freight waiting to unload on the west coast, 229 ships can't offload thier cargo yet.
Read the news, boys - there are things going on in this world.

blame union workers, they make $80k average pay and still want more!! they oppose technological improvements that would make the port more efficient because it might cost a few jobs. east coast and asian ports already adopted the new technology, while us liberal west coast just work slower and slower.
