Don't think that this belongs here, but,
I also posted a thread in Operating Systems earlier this week, not one person aswered with help
I was told to try a re-post here....
here goes....
Got a problem on a buddy's machine displaying JPEG's in Internet Explorer, and Windows Explorer. They come up garbled, or sometimes not at all. I tried Replacing some of the Filters that were installed by office97, with the original Windows ones. So out of Curiosity and much thinking, I installed Netscape, and it displays JPEG's fine, as well as his Photo Editing software (Photoshop 5.5). It's just Internet Explorer, and Windows Explorer. I got the feeling that they are corrupted,(actually more than a feeling!) Ran Virus Scans, Scandisks, etc.....
Re-Installed the Browser, and 98, and office,...etc. Was wondering if anyone knows of a set of replacement filters (i'm not sure of the locations of every one) that can be downloaded. We even went as far as to try another Video Card, and Upgrading to DX8, but still nothing.......
A re-format and Re-Install are'nt really an option, 'till he gets some sort of a full backup system.
