corgis do indeed rock, but it makes me sad some anime kid is getting one because some tv show says its cool :/

Well, a. I no longer watch anime and b. I've had dogs for the past 16 years

Corgi's are cute as fuck.

You counting your parent's pets? Please don't say you had a dog since 8 and you were the only one responsible.

ok, I won't - but I'm no stranger to the process.

Puppies are cute but damn are they a PITA. Just look on petfinder.com and find one thats around a year or two old that is already house trained and skip the pita puppy crap.

I grew up with a couple of cocker spaniels.
I got my kids a corgi (he's about 2.5)
My corgi (and the ones I've seen) are:
1) extremely smart
2) loyal
3) friendly
4) Not diggers or one-track-mind hounds
5) great with kids and strangers

The ONLY downside is they are a bit excitable and have a guard instinct which makes them flip out when the doorbell rings or babies cry, that sort of thing.

My corgi's a good guy and a great companion for my kids.

My brother has one and she's awesome, best little ol' dog. Just a lot of fun.

Definately a herding dog. And they have this weird knack for getting the "zoomies" which is really bizarre...

They just running in circles for no reason. My brother's will run outside, into the house (through the dog door) around the couch, back outside, then start all over, while doing this at top speed. Does it about 5 minutes then she quits just as quickly as she started.

We live down the street from a park too, so hopefully this would entice us to get out more

So, anybody got an idea of a reputable breeder or anything?

corgi's are nortorious for bad back prblems when they get older. they have long bodies but bad support structure. doggie might be in pain during his later years :(

Go online and look up the local Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club....they usually have people who show dogs and breed on occasion. This is best way to get a dog, because they perform all the hip/eye test on the mother and fathers to ensure any genetic defects would not be passed on to the offspring. I got my corgi from a vet who shows for competition, and he's great. The corgi club also does rescues so you can get a rescue dog, which is also a good alternative. I generally would stay away from back yard breeders and puppy mills/pet store, you never know what the does temperament would be. Pics of my corgi...he just turned 6 months old.

On another note my pomeranian stole my corn dog this morning. For a dog that small to finish a corn dog grrrrr fatty!
