I've always wanted a welsh corgi (named ein, no less), my gf always wanted an english bulldog. We went to the petshop, and fell in love with a corgi. Wifey then went on youtube and looked at some vids (see goro@corgi for the smartest goddamn dog alive), and now we have to have a corgi.

So, anybody got an idea of a reputable breeder or anything?

Check out local dog clubs and ask them. They'll point you to some reputable breeders.

it's a cool fun show. The first time I watched it I just thought it was ok, good but not mind blowing like people said. the mushroom episode is my favorite, for many reasons *cough*

a few YEARS later I realized I missed the last EP of the series. After watching it again, in its entirety, the show became sick as fuck.

I <3 the japanese style of running a series until the end and not dragging it out pointlessly, FOR THE MOST PART. (dbz naruto and kenshin aside)

btw, acd puppy?

Yeah, when I get settled and start jonezing for a new pet, it's probably going to be a corgi, too.

Go online and look up the local Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club....they usually have people who show dogs and breed on occasion. This is best way to get a dog, because they perform all the hip/eye test on the mother and fathers to ensure any genetic defects would not be passed on to the offspring. I got my corgi from a vet who shows for competition, and he's great. The corgi club also does rescues so you can get a rescue dog, which is also a good alternative. I generally would stay away from back yard breeders and puppy mills/pet store, you never know what the does temperament would be. Pics of my corgi...he just turned 6 months old.

Thanks. My advice to you (since I am just getting pass the puppy stages with my dog) is to train him the moment you get him to stop him from biting and nipping. Puppies naturally likes to mouth things and test bite, and if you don't stop it right away it will only get worst. That was the first thing I taught him because I was afraid that he might playfully bite a kid and that would be a big can of worms. Since corgi's are herding dogs they are more incline to do it but are also very smart and will learn quickly not to do it.

What do you plan on getting? A tri, sable, red/white or fluffy?

Me and the wifester want a corgi as well. We need to get a house first, but that'll be in the next year or so.

A sable looks like a red/white except they at the ends of the fur there are black tips. The female dog that the breeder kept turned out to be a sable and she is gorgeous. It's hard to tell when they are young which one will turn out to be a sable or not. The breeder thought she was a regular red/white but around 5 1/2 months she started to turn sable. Here is a picture of what a sable looks like

I might have a pic of the sable from my dog's litter, if I find it I'll post it.

People see Cowboy Bebop then think if they get a corgi they can emulate him.

Seriously though, look at pounds or a Corgi rescue; they are popular and showing up more and more at both places due to people realizing a dog is not just fun and games.

Pet shops almost exclusively sell from puppy mills. Buying one there promotes that.

There are too many pets without homes to need to breed more. Many are full/pure bred.

You counting your parent's pets? Please don't say you had a dog since 8 and you were the only one responsible.
