Core strength exercise

We're talking about core, right? I've always been told squats and dead lifts are for buttocks.

Somewhat correct, but if you don't activate your entire core when doing squats/deads then you are not doing it correctly and could injure yourself. Your back muscles are obviously in use for these lifts but people that don't learn properly don't realize that the abs should also be tight. So it does the whole core when done right.

I think that some ab exercise is also needed with squats and deads but that is just me and my running saying that. For another thread. Situps are not needed unless one does a sport and realizes that week abs are slowing them down.

not really necessary though. you can just put 2 plates on the end of a barbell and "roll" that on the ground. i actually like that much better because you can do wide grips as well. been a long time since i have done those, but they are really good and holy hell you will be shaking like a mofo during your last few reps of those if you are doing them properly.

The whole ab wheel thing. I get close to the ground but ca't get back up if you do.

You don't need to go to the ground though. You need to go as far out with the wheel as possible each time you do it. Eventually, you will touch the ground.

Saying you have to go flat is like saying that partial deadlifts (aka: rack pulls) do nothing.

The goal is to get stronger and touching the ground is not possible for everyone.

Apart from squats and deadlifts I like
weighted decline sit ups
dragonflags
hanging leg raisers
weighted hyper extensions

Pick one and do it at the end of your session.

not saying that partial excercises are useless

i would be one of the first to say you can get some strength increases including those excersises like jumping pull ups

even isometric excercises

all i was saying is that most guys will not be able to do them properly

Wouldn't properly imply proper form? And if so if you do it with 80% of the range of motion as someone that can get totally flat while maintaining good form, isn't that still doing it properly?
