Core Parking!

core parking prevents threads from being on the same core when other cores are available. you should leave it on.

example - suppose you have a core i7 quad core with hyperthreading. an application that utilizes 4 threads can run on the 4 cores, or because of hyperthreading, they can run on just the first 2 cores (cause with hyperthreading, they can do 4 threads) with reduced performance. Core parking forces one thread per cpu when cpu usage is low, so these problems are prevented.

Did I ever respond to the above? Cause, my take right now, is, this is RIGHT.
It's LOGICAL; it's kinesthetically, intuitively ON.

And never diss the latter two: Einstein said, first he INTUITED The Universe, and the math, the physics and the formal, formulaic stuff.... FOLLOWED.

Wow. You not in the least bit LATE! But, given what helpers said in this thread, I am not clear why the guy disabled core parking in W8.

I feel bad U hadda use this and reg edit to solve YOUR problem; the word "frantic" made my tummy hurt, and I relate.

I feel blessed I cam upon that little app early this AM, put up screenie its interface, and was told here by someone experienced, it is also what he uses.

Actually I didn't know you could do it from the power settings, but I don't think I have any long term effects on either of my Phenom X6.

Funny thing is this only happened to my 1055T not my 1090T and they both have W8 Pro and identical hardware.
