Dear N7, I will add the Crucial DDR2-1000 as I have actaully tested it. I haven't tested any of the other stuff so kind of hard for me to add. Have you actually tried these sticks to see what it will do?

I haven't sorry.

I do know they are D9, AFAIK, D9GMH.

The Crucial guy on these forums didn't know which, just that they were D9s.

I would add them in a note in the bottom of your post as kits that are D9s, but that you haven't tested.

Granted, results you got with the other kits are your luck...everyone will have different results anyway.

Maybe that could be added to?

Also, the Firestix are now D9GMH.
Older kit was D9GKX, but when i emailed Buffalo, they confimed the newer ones are now GMH.

I will delete my Corsair comments in a bit; sorry to clutter up the thread.

To be honest I get enough stuff that I don't really look at reviews 🙂. Chances are I am going to try it regardless...

I ordered some 6400C4F Dominators today as well. Apparently the Promos chips are very highly binned, and the cost is very competitive. I will test them tomorrow and tell everyone how it goes...

As for the other 6400C4's they are definetly D9GMH. They do actaully clock very well, if they are price competivie they are a set to buy. This post basically stands as a weekly update to pricing in the ram industry. You are going to find that most of these products perform equally, it just comes to what price you are willing to pay in a given week for the name on the side.

Yes, please! Yoxxy has already updated the OP several times and has worked to improve it each time. It may be a while before the mods will sticky this, but keep up the good work.

Yoxxy,

Great job, as always, thanks for all the help to all of us here.

One comment/feedback, I think you might have accidentaly double-linked the Super Talent PC2-8000 as your link for the VX2's.

Here's the link for VX2's...wish they'd actuially be in stock one of these days, have been waiting to buy the VX2's or Dominators (either) for many a week now.

Very nice work Yoxxy!!!

And I guess I made a good deal getting the SuperTalent memory!!! 😀

Wesley Fink got a 2GB kit of Super Talent PC2-6400 5-5-4 memory to PC2-6400 4-4-4 @ 1.95V, and PC2-8000 5-5-5 @ 2.3V, which is decent for $200. Maybe it'll give your budget G.Skill recommendation a run for its money?

Corsair 6400C4 is no longer using Micron ICs. They have switched to promos with the latest revision. Even the Dominator 6400C4D is Promos

Thanx for adding the mention of the Firestix at the bottom, as they are basically the best deal out there right now.

They are not GKX though, they are GMH.
The older revision was GKX; current version is D9GMH.

I still think the 6400C4 are Micron D9GMH, because they new Dominators are the only ones that are being sold. I believe the 6400C4 are back supply. As for reiew samples, unless they are retail, its best not to put them in a post. Getting some stuff from reviewers I can say that the majority of time it will perform a bit better than what is out to the public.

The firestix have been updated, and does anyone notice that 3 of the rams are sold out now, it must be from this post 🙂 (kidding)

Getting memory with Micron D9 from big manufactures like OCZ and Corsair, seems like a lottery.
You will never know for sure if you are going to get the Micron D9 unless you pay the price for it.
That was another reason I did not choose them.

2 New sets on my door today, ready to be tested. 6400C4D (Dominator 6400, Corsair), Teamgroup PC2-6400C3 (I am excited for this one). Will run them both on P5B Deluxe, and 680i. If I have some time I will pull the p5w64 and run those as well. Results to follow.

Unless you buy crucial. They only use D9GMH, but don't do much binning so you have to rely on luck somewhat. Some D9GMH overclock like crazy and some won't go as far.

Why isn't this thing stickified yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 6400C4DF's don't clock the best. I was able to get 850 @ 4-4-4-12, and 930 @ 5-5-5-15. Tested on 680i and P5B deluxe, pretty much the same results. Doesn't really matter as they arn't for me anyway 🙂.

Tomorrow we are going to have the ultimate ram contest though.

Team Xtreem 3-3-3-8 PC2-6400, Corsair Dominator 6400C3D, OCZ Titanium PC2-1000.

What I would consider to be the best of the best at the current time. Graphs, benchmarks, to follow.

What 2GB memory at newegg or zipzoomfly would be the best at around $220 for a E6300 on a P5B. Would that G Skill 6400CL4D-2GBPK PC2-6400 be adequate? Also is there any difference between all the different makes of that P5B series motherboards with regards to OC. I'm looking at getting atleast 2.8-3.2GHz out of this config. I'm looking at replacing my old 1.6A northwood, what type of performance difference between the two setups would there be?

Thanks
