I got a speeding ticket coming home from seeing my grandma in the hospital on new years day for doing 5 over. If cops want my respect than they need to act like normal human beings.
Cops don't need your respect. They need you to obey that traffic laws. Is that so hard to ask espcially when you drive home from seeing your grandma.
😎😀

Driving the 30+ miles to work this morning (after the kids opened their gifts) all I see are people pulled over. Cops everywhere writing tickets. Usually there are none around at the times I am traveling but to do this on Christmas day is just pathetic. Luckily I had my radar detector on and slowed down since the chick that passsed me got pulled over.

I guess they need to meet their quotas before the end of the year.

What cops do is a management decision. This means the politicians we elect have decided that the cops are enforcing the speed limits on Christmas morning.

But then I would never want to be a cop. Are there any cops on this forum?

I saw on a TV news show that they are trained to behave like they are 45 seconds away from hurting someone.

They are there to serve and protect, not to ruin a person's day by splitting hairs over doing 50 in a 45 because they wanna to give a teenager a hard time because he's driving a muscle car. All I ask is treat people how you want to be treated.

People who speed deserve a ticket period. No matter how stupid the law is, do not break it. You have no right to break a law, the govt>you. If you want a higher speed limit, write your governer.

You are an idiot.

Im the idiot? So instead of trying to get a law changed to suit your needs, you say its ok to break the law instead, without a care about the safety of other people. So any law I dont like, I can go break it anytime I want  You are the idiot.

I'm getting the impression that folks in the US follow the speed limit a lot more closely then other countries.

In Canada, we tend to go over the speed limit a lot! 😉
Your impression is wrong. There are just a LOT of hypocrites here

Actually many do not care that you speed. As long as you do it safely. Sure i speed. I enjoy going fast. But i try to be carefull when i do it. Such as only on straight roads where i can see (In IL that is easy to do) or on tollway's etc.

What i have complaints about is the morons that b!tch about getting a ticket when they get caught Or sit there and say how the cops are pigs and should be out searching for murders etc.

joy, they deserve the bah humbug award. spreading misery. sure they work, but they are being paid. getting a ticket... well ... tickets aren't nice. tickets aren't fair forms of punishment either. stings much less the further up the economic ladder you are.
