Driving the 30+ miles to work this morning (after the kids opened their gifts) all I see are people pulled over. Cops everywhere writing tickets. Usually there are none around at the times I am traveling but to do this on Christmas day is just pathetic. Luckily I had my radar detector on and slowed down since the chick that passsed me got pulled over.

I guess they need to meet their quotas before the end of the year.

Sucks for the cops who had to work today.

About the fines, if you buy the ticket, take the ride...

Isn't the Christmas season usually met with higher traffic fatalities? Sounds to me like they're doing their job. Get over it.

Well, cops want money for Christmas so they are ticketing almost every one they see on the road. :p

I hate it when traffic gets slowed down and accidents are prevented. Thats the worst. I hear that if you shoot someone on christmas, they have the nerve to arrest you! What is this, communism?

my car got busted into once, guess what the cops did about it: NOTHING. Writing tickets is easier.

ture that it's not their fault tho. Write your congressman and demand a higher speed limit!!!!

Wow. Just wow.

I was going to type out a whole response to this but 1) i'm not sure if youre being sarcastic, and 2) if youre serious, i;m not sure any response will sink in anyway. So I'll leave it at wow.

It's not the police department's job to stop rape/murder/etc. They're there to respond after the fact.

I believe there was a lawsuit against a police department for failure to prevent something, and the ruling was that it's not their job to 'prevent' it.

I don't hate police officers at all, but I do hate our speed limits...and most of the other drivers around me. I'm sorry, but if you don't feel comfortable operating your vehicle at speeds of 65-70mph, then stay off of the highway. If you notice every other car around you is changing lanes so as to pass you, even if you're following the prescribed limit, then you're the one endangering them...not vice-versa. Basically, just keep up with the flow of traffic, and do NOT slam on your brakes everytime you see someone four lanes over and half a mile ahead slow down.

Good lord, I hate drivers in Atlanta.
