If he actually stole the drugs it is a breach of trust, he should be busted for that.

Exactly. It's not like he made a deal on his own time/dime and was busted with it. He seized it in the line of duty and then stole it, so really there are at least two crimes here that he should have to answer for. As far as not wanting anyone to be locked up for possession, I agree. The problem here is that the perp is one of the guys who arrests people and starts the process of locking them up. He is supposed to enforce the laws, not violate them with impunity.

So as far as the laws go; goose, gander and all that. This goose should have been cooked but as we all know, cops are the exception to the rules.
