No body is saying kill the officer. No one cares about the marijuana in particular. The supposed "outrage" is that a cop can steal from the office and then not be charged. Now, the article is poorly written and is premature saying there will be no charges. There may once the investigation is over. However if this cops does get off for stealing from the department then that is not a good thing.
Failing to file reports, stealing evidence, whatever- that's one thing. It's not my job to charge him for whatever those things get. Let the locals there in lib-town do their jobs.

The fact that it's MJ, I couldn't care less about. That's the issue.

Oh god, you're trying that stupid list again. Didn't you learn your lesson?

LOL! Everyone has to have noticed your pattern. When you're busted on something so bad it's literally embarrassing your spin-tactic is to insist the exact opposite and just repeat it like a mantra, hoping it will come true. It's funny!

Yes, you sure proved that places like Richmond and Compton (most liberal) are waaaay better than conservative Newport Beach and Rancho Palos Verdes! It's almost like you didn't have to slink away in shame from the utter stupidity of such an easily lost bet!

Like I said before, you're a great example of the Dunning-Krueger effect. You know so little about hypothesis testing that you don't even know why what you said is stupid.

As I mentioned before your list didn't control for any other factors, nor relative levels of ideology, nor reverse correlation. In fact it apparently never even dawned on you. Only one of us should be embarrassed here, and it's you.

You originally stated that weirdos had a cop obsession on the forum and dismissed the article on those reasons. There are legitimate reasons to want public justice here, not just people looking for another reason to hate on cops.

Oh please. Let's just ignore the context of this forum and all the crazy cop-obsessed idiots for a second why don't we.

Haha and then used two pounds of it to "train his dog" at home. LOL.
The idiot that posted this now pretending it's not about MJ and about outrage over failing to file a report or some other bullshit.

SPIN SPIN SPIN SPIN...!

Once more, too funny!

I suspect that Richmond will fire the greedy fool & move on. Seems appropriate. If he can't properly identify opportunities to steal, he's not smart enough to be a cop. That's aside from issues of integrity.

When dispatched to pick up suspected marijuana from a UPS store, you have to turn it in. Realistically, you could possibly steal some of it, not all of it.

When you find a duffel bag full of it during a traffic stop & search, you can keep it & tell the guy to hit the road. He will, & nobody will be the wiser. Happens all the time, I'm sure.

Good. Marijuana shouldn't be illegal.

But there should be laws against bad marijuana. What some growers do to their plants should be a crime.

The law is the law and since cops are the law, they can't be charged with violating it unless they piss off their brethren or superiors.

Sets a bad precedent for the rest of the crooks, I mean cops.

Marijuana is illegal?

It's like $40 for a physicians reference and all the pot stuff you can eat or smoke or vape.

I used to smoke pot in college but now I don't understand it. One of my younger cousins claims people don't even smoke pot anymore, they vape it with dabs. Weed for the 21st century.

Federal government needs to setup a task force that does nothing but prosecute police and judges. The current system isn't fucking working. The conflict of interest between local prosecutors doing this against local cops doesn't work.

I wouldn't give a shit if anyone was caught with 5lbs of MJ- why should I give a shit because it's a cop who radioed in and said he had it?

Because this forum is filled with weirdos with strange cop and robot obsessions?

Nope. Still doesn't make me give a shit.
I don't care about MJ either, unfortunately my opinion doesn't matter. If I were found with 5lbs of pot I'd be going to FPMITAP. This pig should go away for a long time, unless cops are above the law...

California penalties-

http://norml.org/laws/item/california-penalties

At worst, 3 years. With a clean record, first offense & a good lawyer, probation is more likely.

Just fire the guy, let him cop to misdemeanor probation & public service with the six month sentence hanging over his head & move on.

Only his amazing foolishness makes it comment worthy at all.

What about stealing from the police? How much time do you get for that?

Look, I get that and totally agree. I just think that justice would not truly be served in this case by punishing this officer. Instead of "hey some people get punished for this so cops should be too", I take the viewpoint of "hey people who aren't cops should stop getting punished for this."

If he actually stole the drugs it is a breach of trust, he should be busted for that.

A street kid gets arrested, gonna do some time
He got out three years from now just to commit more crime
A businessman is caught with 24 kilos
He’s out on bail and out of jail
And that’s the way it goes

Now, anyone who was arrested by this officer for a drug crime will be able to "it wasn't mine! It was planted! They said I'd go to jail for 20 years, unless I agreed to a plea bargain." This officer has just given reasonable doubt for every drug case he's been involved in - should be fired.

I doubt anyone actually cares about the marijuana.

It's the double standard; the reality, or apparent reality, that our justice system is more lenient on police when they actually need to be held to higher standards.

Wow...such faux rage from you.

You don't mind that the police broke the law? That's Ok to you right?

Didn't file a report, and kept it for himself....he also said they can find more marijuana as well.
