I doubt there is much planning he can do in that cabin. He is surrounded by heavily armed law enforcement.

He would have time to plan how he could kill as many MF'ers as possible.

the amount of support here for a murderer is mind boggling.

Dunno why cops aren't held to this. The best I can say about a cop is a lot turn the other cheek when it comes to cops and the wrong doing. So that means fuck all cops.

I'm not sure you understand the common use of the term "turn the other cheek".

If no cops had a similar expectation of the general public, there would be nothing to turn a blind eye to. So you all can have fun fucking each other, but leave the rest of us out of it, k?

Well he did use his guns and how do they know he won't use his guns again?

His goal was clearly killing as many cops as he could, and he knew he was going to die.

His goal is clear he will use his weapon when he is provoked or apprehended. There is no question he will use his gun again however if he is surrounded and inside the cabin I don't think he will kill anyone from inside unless you are out in the open walking around.

Except for when he did?

After holing up in the cabin, there was a second gunbattle with San Bernardino County deputies, two of whom were shot. One died and the other was expected to live after undergoing surgery.

You mean like tossing in tear gas?

Yeah, they did that.

Or wait him out. Instead, they chose to kill the guy. Is shutting him up a convenient side effect of that? Sure.

Cops were dead wrong. Sorry.

a better question is why didn't they just wait it out? they clearly had him surrounded and dorner obviously had a finite number of bullets. He's dead because they wanted him dead.

Why give him the luxury?

Actually, Dorner is the one who's dead wrong. He could have surrendered in front of the TV cameras, then spent his time in jail selling his story. There would be no lack of media sensationalism, if he'd done so.

I guess fighting corruption wasn't really his goal, after all. Too bad, he might have done some good.

Wait him out for what? For him to come out, firing at officers? For him to say he's peacefully coming out and when they handcuff him, he takes a life before you can kill him.

Again, why do you folks think this is going to end peacefully? He just shot and killed an officer from the cabin.

you don't set fire to shit with tear gas unless you are using a delivery system that was not intended for indoor use, I've set off many pyrotechnical devices in many wooden cabines when i was in the army and I have never set fire to shit.

I for one am not supporting a murderer but I want to live in a country where everyone gets due process.

Eventually he would have, no? The point is they didn't have to kill the guy if they didn't want to at that point.

In the same turn that you said it wasn't going to end peacefully, I agree. I doubt the cops would have let him live even if he did "surrender." The "pyrotechnic" tear gas they used certainly shows that.

I don't like the lies and I don't like the excuses. And that's that.

Has anyone heard if there is going to be a complete independent investigation of all the events?

I never said I supported the guy but I do empathize with his plight.

Regarding you second gun battle, as I posted earlier, I have no doubt he wanted to kill as many law enforcement as possible. Do you think dorner would just started shooting or lob grenades if everyone is out of sight?

I don't think he would have used his asymetrical warfare at this point. He is surrounded.

Clearly Dorner did not want due process.

Isn't due process what lost him his job/ruined his life in the first place? Filing a report of police brutality? I'll admit I don't know all the details.

So he claims, yes. I'm an attorney and I can confirm that people lie to me in deposition all the time, and even before the Court, so the process is far from perfect and the record is essentially meaningless. Who knows what really happened? Given his pattern of behavior, I happen to believe Dorner, but there is no way to know for sure. Only the officers involved in his dismissal truly know.

How is that possible when you are surrounded and probably several sniper ready to shoot him when he makes a wrong move.

He shot officers when they were chasing him, and it was never more than 2 of them. If you think he could have walked out the front door and killed another cop you're nuts. There was probably 100 trigger happy cops waiting for him to come outside. And I'm sure bunches of them were snipers. There's a better chance of me winning the Super Lotto and having sex with Halle Berry on the same day than there would be of him coming out that cabin and shooting even a single officer.

Hate to break it to you, but this guy wasn't Jason Bourne. Once handcuffed, most suspects with a couple hundred guns pointed at them don't break free to continue taking lives.

.

Well, if I was Dorner I would either 1. Camp out and take people out with my assault rifle or 2. go out guns blazing.

Neither option bodes particularly well for Dorner or the cops against him.

Did you know if he had an explosives on him? He talked about having demolitions experience.

Again, you think he's coming out peacefully?

Taking notes. Lots of notes. The failures on both sides, and the actions and reactions on both sides.

First and foremost, noted that in everyone one of these types of incidents, everything is going perfect until it's always someone who is tied up and left unsupervised that ends up getting free and screwing everything up.
