Cooling tips for k6-2 450?

I have a k6-2 450 on an Epox mvp3c2 mother board and am trying too over clock it...... But the problem is that it runs way to hot at 500mhz ( right around 58 degrees celsius). Would any one have any suggestions for cooling that might make it run cool enough for me to o/c it to 600mhz?

1) Buy a better HSF (FOP32-1 for example).
2) It's EXTREMELY unlikely you will be able to o/c this chip to 600 MHz even with liquid nitrogen. If you're very lucky you can reach 500-550 MHz...

Hanky is right its very unlikely to hit 600mhz on a k6-2...550 is the limit. k6-2 don't overclock very well, but you can try removing the cap on it..so the heatsink will sit on the core directly if your willing to be nutty like that :p But even with doing that still won't hit 600mhz...but it may give you alot better contact with the CPU and making it more stable at 550-500. Id recommend a oversized heatsink like a Alpha PEP66 or a Taisol 742, there more suited for heavy heat loads.

I strongly recommend not to remove the metal plate of the K6-2. Without it, it looks a lot like a Socket A CPU without the four little pads stabilizing the HS. I assume AMD didn't make SoA-CPUs with metal plates because they produce way too much heat but I'd never try to install a HS on such a CPU when there are no pads, because there's a quite a chance of destroying the core or not making good contact between HS and core. So unless you get proper pads for your K6-2, I think you're in a better position when not removing the metal plate.
And one more thing: Overclocking a K6-2 which has no L2-Cache often yields only poor speed gains so I think it's not worth the effort.

Thanks for all the responses..... I appreciate the help. Where can I find some of these HSF at? And if I got a good enough HSF would it be possible to run in @550mhz or is that too hot?

For most K6-X CPUs a 50 MHz overclock is the best thing possible with aircooling. So I even doubt you can reach 550.

Back in the days on my k6-2 system i got 550 out of my 350 k6-2...I had removed that cap lapped both surfaces. The surface are is small and it is dangerous of it rocking on the core. At the time i was using a FDP-32 modded with a 80mm silent fan. Swapped the retension clip from the FKP32 which gave about 20Lb of presure on angled so it presses right on the center of the sink so this somewhat eliminated rocking. The stock clip gave even amount of presure over the sink..which rocking on the core could happen...also it gave alot less presure
